With nearly an entire roster dedicated to playing defense, I'm not sure how Detroit avoids a significant deficit in time of possession. Which leads to guys being tired, making mistakes, getting caught in line changes, etc.
They're going to need one heck of a trade to avoid a very ugly season. Or they're assuming this new goaltending trio will be fine with stopping a handful of breakaways per game.
Unless Larkin gets injuried I'm not sure they'll be THIS bad.
But... they are literally a Larkin injury away from like, legitimately being one of the worst teams in the league. Idk how many good teams you can say have 1 player that makes you go from possible meddling contender to for sure top 5 pick.
People keep mentioning we got someone better than Suter... well great, if you want playoffs/cup runs you need someone better than Copp for sure, and probably as good or better than Larkin. I don't even mind Compher as a player, but we need more. A collection of guys like Copp/Compher won't get anything done.
As far as trade ideas: Still want Debrincat.
Elliot Freedman seems to think this is going to happen at some point. So, that's all the faith I got. Nothing actually suggest it'll get done. Rumors are NYI are in on this now. Senators really working with some stiff GM's. (Yzerman/Lamoriello)
