He had a couple seasons in Detroit where he was on pace for 30 goal seasons. He had chemistry with larkin
... no argument hes been complete horseshit in Washington
Some people react badly when they get dealt and never recovers ...if he can be had for a 3rd and say gylander who I think won't sign I'd do it
Would allow kane and debrincat to stick on the 2nd line and make us deeper. I'm not giving up a 1st or 2nd or top prospect
I'm not actively advocating for mantha but I wouldnt be pissed. If it was up to me I'd make moves for berggren and edvinsson to be in the lineup and call it a day
0% chance he fetches a 1st
I think Mantha would score 30 with us. Having a PF who can score 30 is always good.
I think people on this board make a huge mistake when they evaluate our players on the bad teams we have had. Just look how so much better Chiarot and Hronek look when they got the chance to play on a good team.
Another thing, tall players may often look both slow and lazy.
I strongly doubt Yzerman has ever considered bringing back Mantha, but I am one of a very few on this board who would love to see him back.
Pf who can score 30 in top 6 is always good.
I don't have strong feelings on Mantha, but has Yzerman ever brought back a guy he traded away? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I could easily be missing a case where this has happened.
At any rate, scoring is no longer a concern. We have scored the 2nd most goals in the Eastern Conference and are only 4 goals behind Toronto (they have a game in hand). What does Mantha add that this team is currently lacking?
I only remember Holland bringing back Larionov and Quincy. I didn't follow Yzerman while he was with bolts. @Henka probably knows.
Lazy is a part of it, but toward the end of his time in Detroit, I started thinking it was just as much that he thinks the game slowly. Would just kind of go controller disconnected for half a second whenever he had to come up with a new plan of action, making him look all the more disengaged.
Might have been imagining things though...
Some players look slow. Jokic is probably the slowest player in the history of the NBA by far, but at the same time the best one of all time.
Datsyuk looked when he walked like he had 3 left feet, but with the skates on he was one of the most exciting player to watch
