Gotcha thanksCan't buy out now. Have to wait until the off season buy out window. So next year and the year after. He has 1 year left of his contract.

Would any of Walker, Seeler, or Ristolainen be a fit? I've been wondering if Ristolainen for Husso + pick might make some sense.
I think the playoff race hasnt really shaken out enough quite yet. Theres a lot of teams within strijing distance. Usually theres some more separation by this pointIs it just me, or is this the deadest it's ever been heading up to the deadline?
We are only like 10 days out and it's just crickets. No rumors, no early movement. I'm kind of expecting the least movement we've ever seen in a deadline.
yes but there is no reason to buy him out during this season. We might as well trade him if we aren't going to use him before we have to buy him out over the summer if that is yzerman's intentions.
Agreed. My wish would be for gudas type defenseman. Playoffs are not for the timid when rules get looser. When you're a wagon, like Red Wings are, you don't need anything.
Seriously, the team chemistry is so good right now, not sure I want any move made. But like many, I trust Steve to make the right move, whatever that is.
Idk, if you make no moves and you're a playoff team you're telling your team you're Stanley cup ready or no moves signals you aren't good enough to add to.When you're a wagon, like Red Wings are, you don't need anything.

Not much in-between when we're talking about playoffs/winning.
Doesn't got to be Hanifin/Guentzel but man, Yzerman's got to throw a bone to the guys. They're playing hard.
Would stay far away from Guentze and Buchnevich because of the contract situation. Crouse is super interesting though. That is exactly the type of player I want for Dylan's LW. Just a little more gabagool for the top6.Names at rumours:
- LW/RW Pavel Buchnevich, 5.8M, 2 years left, 28-year old Marian Hossa -syled two-way elite forward
- LW Jake Guentzel, 6.0M, 1 year left, 29-year old Tyler Bertuzzi-styled elite netfront grinder
- LW Lawson Crouse, 4.3M 4 years left, 26-year old physical netfront power-forward. Bigger and stronger than Guentzel, not as skilled.
- LD Noah Hanifin, 4.95M for 1 year from UFA. 27-year old overall defenceman.
- RD Chris Tanev, 4.5M for 1 year, 34-year old defensive defenceman.
- RD Adam Larsson, 4.0M for 2-years, 31-year old defensive defeceman.
- G Juuse Saros, 5.0M for 2-years, 28-year old smallish goalie.
Crouse is a slightly shorter right-handed Rasmussen that gets PP time.Would stay far away from Guentze and Buchnevich because of the contract situation. Crouse is super interesting though. That is exactly the type of player I want for Dylan's LW
Don*t want Tanev cause of injury history and contract situation. Like Hanifin a lot but the contract as well as the trade is prob gonna be super pricey. Larsson I'm hearing for the first time. That makes sense. That should push Petry down a spot, which I'm all for.
We also have to start being mindful of the money here. Moose, Kane, Raymond and Mo alone are already 18mil at least.
Because he is good on the PP, Moose is not. Plus, Moose doesn't shoot at 15% regularly and doesn't hit as much as Crouse, who has better edge work and balance and therefore actually seperates ppl from the puck when he hits.. Not the patented Moose bear hug escort-the-opponent-into-the-boards-and-lose-the-puck-battle-anyway.Crouse is a slightly shorter right-handed Rasmussen that gets PP time.
Crouse didn't score a PPG until he was 24, which is what Ras is now.Because he is good on the PP, Moose is not. Forgot: Crouse actually fights from time to time and doesn't just stare

Who cares when?! He is better. That matters. And his other advantages make him a better top6 option than Moose.Crouse didn't score a PPG until he was 24, which is what Ras is now.
Fights are not a positive.
Jumped a row looking at the handedness column...
Give Ras more than 10 seconds of PP time, I'm sure someone can figure out how to bounce a couple pucks off of him.Who cares when?! He is better. That matters. And his other advantages make him a better top6 option than Moose.
When my captain gets cross-checked in the neck for example I want the option of violence, not the option of mean mugging.
Curious to see what happens with him, not sure if I would like what it would take to get him, but if Stevie can pull off something crazy I amwould be interested.they would want so much ...they're prolly still mad with the DeBrincat trade lol
I've played NCAA hockey. That's entirely a fan's perspective from a guy who's never played any team sports. Even pro athletes prefer to play with friends, that's why Kane signed with the Wings. As much as I rag on Copp, DBoss is probably happy to have him on the team.
As a fan, I'd like to see some toughness added, but I don't think the players are asking for additional talent when the team is playing lights out aside from the 2 games right after the all star break.
