Would any of Walker, Seeler, or Ristolainen be a fit? I've been wondering if Ristolainen for Husso + pick might make some sense.

Risto, huge NO!

Is it just me, or is this the deadest it's ever been heading up to the deadline?

We are only like 10 days out and it's just crickets. No rumors, no early movement. I'm kind of expecting the least movement we've ever seen in a deadline.

Too many teams still in the fight, and many have little or no space.

I've played NCAA hockey.

Lol, Idiot man. lol.

Anyways a couple guys aren't playing that you could move without much going on.
( Holl/Kostin/Husso ).

So are you on EP?

When is the last time Detroit were buyers at the deadline?

Was it the Legwand, Cole, Zidlicky era when Holland was desperately trying to keep the streak going?

Don't make us think of that era! What a BUMMER!

No, you aren't understanding.

Kostin has no trade value I agree, but he could be moved imo with a pick for a "older" veteran that could help. Cap dump basically with a pick. Carters just my quick example it's not like a favorite move.

So you ship Kostin and the pick for Carter and the rest of this year, plus dump the cap on Koston in 24/25. Now it depends on how much Penguins like the pick for the cap dump.

Fair enough, I misunderstood your last trade proposal. Considering what Carter has done this year, it'd have to be a different player though. Maybe someone like Tyler Johnson who's won a Cup or Zucker who's a more useful player. Mantha would be hilarious for multiple reasons, but Edmunson would be a more likely trade candidate with the Caps.

The more I think about Mantha, the more I like the idea. Every Wings forum on the web will explode, and he should be motivated since he's UFA, plus Larkin seemed to like him.

Edit: Plus Raz could give him the mean face to motivate him, because we all know Mantha only plays well when pissed. II also looked at his playoff stats, and I don't think any other team will get into a bidding war for him.

I'd much rather go with a staple on defense than ferraro. Hanifin fits our team in ever way: need, playstyle, hockey iq, toughness. A top 4 of potentially ed - seider, hanifin asp in two years would be unfair to others and I am here for it.
Walman - Seider
Hanafin - ASP
Edvinsson - X

Yeah buddy! :yo:

They're gonna look worse next season because Tank is leaving and Sanderson;s big contract kicks in taking up that cap space along with teh dead cap space from Matt Murray, etc.
it's okay though, they'll trade brady tkachuk and chychrun is gone too lol

man that fanbase really thought they had us bent over a barrel for this year when it comes to being in the playoffs and we were the bottom feeders.

What about Dumba for Holl+?
no. just no. always hated dumba

If Tkachuk is available:

Fabbri
Veleno
2024 1st
2025 1st
2026 1st
he hates the wings and I doubt he would even allow himself to come here. I am sure that ottawa would "do right" by him and send him somewhere that he would be good with, even though he has no nmc or anything, but I doubt he would ever want to play here.

I like his toughness and agitator lifestyle but not even sure I would really want him on this team. Maybe last year I would have since we had a "ahl+ level team" as lalonde has been saying lately.

Chelios hated Detroit.

Also gives the Wings a dynamic dimension. True PF.

EDIT: He also has no trade protection.

yeah i wrote that...

I understand the chelios comparison, but brady's hatred is much deeper because it spans to his dad playing and when he was a baby having the wings hatred instilled into him. Chelios was also cool with it because he was going to a 15 player hof team lol.

Depends on what has to be added to get rid of Holl. It's basically a cap dump.
Ya I guess it’s a matter of if you think Dumba is an upgrade on the back end. I haven’t watched him this year so I can’t speak much on that

Wild to me. What a fall for the Senators.
I almost feel bad for their fans. Their star players almost always end up wanting out... and it always seems to start with rumblings like this that end up turning into an actual move via trade or FA.

It's probably a safe bet that if Matthew wanted out of Canada, Brady does too.

It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up in Philly, they would overpay wildly for him. He seems like such a fit for that franchise.
It does seem like Philadelphia would go hard after him. Michkov+?
