Omfg what in the belongs within the Smithsonian is this?
DeBrusk - Pettersson - Sherwood with a xGoal% of 95% tonight.
Doubly impressive when you consider they did it without Hughes feeding them pucks.
Can we not just handcuff Myers to the bench at the start of the 3rd period for now on..he is just awful.period.Coaching staff needs to wake the f*** up. Stop putting myers and juulsen out in the last moments. Haven't we learned from the playoffs?
Ok, Myers played ok for the 2nd and then started steadily declining again as the game went on. You put him out in a vital moment at the end, I get it. But then he makes the dumbest possible play with tons of time and no pressure....DON'T PUT HIM OUT THERE AGAIN. And definitely don't put Juulsen out there with him...
Also, Hronek was an absolute stud this game and he's not out there at the end?
This coaching staff just can't help themselves, they put Myers out mindlessly and just ignore when he makes dumb decisions. At least be able to read who is playing well in the game and lean on them...
Yeah Juulsen and Myers wtf.Good on Hronek tonight.
Feel bad for Lankinen, we totally boned him. Even with the bad reffing we followed it up with dumb plays on the back end.
Defence actually really pulled it together for awhile but bad depoloyment in the last moments.
I have faith in Tocchet in general, his structure is the best we've seen in awhile.I have my issues with tocchet mainly some of his offensive system but the bar is higher, I will never forget how bad willie and travis green were, obviously there was a chance it was a torts scenario where they just didnt work but there a fine coach that works elsewhere but this reaffirms how poor I thought green was as a coach. The bar was really low for the last ten years.
Lankinen got screwed. Should've been a 1 GAA game for him. Instead a BS PP and a goal by a guy who should've been in the locker room makes him look a lot worse than he played.
Major shoutout to Sherwood. Maybe the best game of his career so far. Everyone keeps talking about what a great signing he was, but truthfully, it's Sherwood who deserves the credit.
Nobody expected him to be this good. This is all on him for raising his level of play, and it starts with the energy he brings to every shift, finishing his checks like he's getting paid per hit. You love to see it.
