I have my issues with tocchet mainly some of his offensive system but the bar is higher, I will never forget how bad willie and travis green were, obviously there was a chance it was a torts scenario where they just didnt work but there a fine coach that works elsewhere but this reaffirms how poor I thought green was as a coach. The bar was really low for the last ten years.

Good on Hronek tonight.

Feel bad for Lankinen, we totally boned him. Even with the bad reffing we followed it up with dumb plays on the back end.

Defence actually really pulled it together for awhile but bad depoloyment in the last moments.

We need a top 4 defenseman, but we also need a top 6 defenseman, because Myers is absolutely horrible night after night. That play where he shot at the empty net... I'm not sure what to say. He had an eternity to make a pass to somebody in the neutral zone or his own zone. Ices it. Ices it again. The comeback is on. Lol.

Gutsy win though, considering no Miller, Boeser, Hughes, Demko.

Coaching staff needs to wake the f*** up. Stop putting myers and juulsen out in the last moments. Haven't we learned from the playoffs?

Ok, Myers played ok for the 2nd and then started steadily declining again as the game went on. You put him out in a vital moment at the end, I get it. But then he makes the dumbest possible play with tons of time and no pressure....DON'T PUT HIM OUT THERE AGAIN. And definitely don't put Juulsen out there with him...

Also, Hronek was an absolute stud this game and he's not out there at the end?

This coaching staff just can't help themselves, they put Myers out mindlessly and just ignore when he makes dumb decisions. At least be able to read who is playing well in the game and lean on them...
Can we not just handcuff Myers to the bench at the start of the 3rd period for now on..he is just awful.period.

I have faith in Tocchet in general, his structure is the best we've seen in awhile.

In many ways he's a young coach still. He has a lot to learn. But I think it says something that the team hasn't really played well either as individuals or in the system so far and we're still quite competitive. And that's with basically no 2nd pair on this team with Myers-Soucy struggling so much.

I'd love to see him just be able to improve on some basic coaching stuff like having more of a feel of who on the team is hot and who is not. At least his line matching isn't terrible so he has that on a lot of our former coaches. And let's not start on offence or the PP, we'll be here forever. But he and the team have time to figure it out. I hope.

Lankinen got screwed. Should've been a 1 GAA game for him. Instead a BS PP and a goal by a guy who should've been in the locker room makes him look a lot worse than he played.

Major shoutout to Sherwood. Maybe the best game of his career so far. Everyone keeps talking about what a great signing he was, but truthfully, it's Sherwood who deserves the credit.

Nobody expected him to be this good. This is all on him for raising his level of play, and it starts with the energy he brings to every shift, finishing his checks like he's getting paid per hit. You love to see it.

Lankinen was happy as shit with his lil pump. Dude is so awesome

Real talk though, we're a work in progress kind of team but this is the kind of game that can galvanize a locker room.

Last year everything went right, this year is a hellscape of shitty luck and we're rallying because of it.

Tochett is a damn fine coach and he'd be a f***ing amazing coach if he stopped with the PP bullshit and stopped with the Myers/Soucy nonsense.

Quality win, I'm sure Ottawa will love to hang their hat on those two late goals but truth be told they didn't deserve anything tonight.

I must admit I talked a lot of smack about DeBrusk after the Rangers game; he deserves credit for making some good plays tonight. Still an "all tools no box" player but hey, at least they're NHL quality tools.

Sherwood stonks have never been higher 📈📈📈 He is sneakily a very good player, with IQ, hands, and great speed.
