What is one trade you would make that is reasonable that would improve us right now?

Dillion to the Oilers for Poolparty or Yamamoto?

Tough one - heart says Poolparty, gut says Yamamoto. Feel like Yamamoto might produce more, but Poolparty's size and potential is hard to ignore, but at the same time, his lack of production playing with 97 and 29 is of concern. How much of a dip would we see with him on a line with Lowry and Barron? I would think the Oiler's would be more inclined to trade Poolparty given how public it's been about his availability the last while.

Neither. I think despite what Oiler fans think... heinola for Holloway makes sense

I do that in a heartbeat, drive Heinola to Edm and take Holland out to dinner while I'm there.

Actually, you might be on a good track but we would need to add a fair bit. Not sure exactly what that add should be. I would peg Ville's value at more like that of Xavier Bourgault. JMO

Winter is Coming
Pionk plus Chibrikov for Horvat (signed to extension instantly)

Dubois and Stanley to ?? For top 4 D and 1st. (Deadline deal)

Wheels to Florida (deadline) I'd retain depending on what I get back. 1st isn't an option here either

I'd definitely go Yamamoto. Puju gives me bad big Finn vibes

Holloway. Kid struggled to start the year. I like him but he isn't a world beater....yet
I mean neither is Heinola. I'd do that swap, simply because of the Jets d situation and I'm pretty high on Holloway.

Pomo and Florida gonna trade for one of our dmen? Don’t ex-coaches try and get a few players from their old team.

I don't see the Oilers as good trading partners. Oilers biggest achilles are Poolparty, who can eventually be replaced internally by Holloway, and Ryan Murray, to start the season. Oilers are sitting on Broberg, who is at least by draft position a better prospect than Heinola. Niemelanen probably gives them the same amount of physicality as Dillon, for a fraction of cost. For the Jets you trade a d-man and you're already looking at promoting Heinola, having two very young defensemen in the lineup, another injury and you are down to Chisholm, another injury and it's an adventure. I don't think the Jets can sacrifice any more defensive depth.

With early season injuries to guys like Norris and Palat I think there will be some teams kicking tires on some key players, like O'Reilly in St. Louis, and someone off San Jose.

For the Jets, you're looking at 5 draft picks next season, and only a 1st and 3rd in the first 4 rounds, so I don't expect anything major.

I'd look at Comtois as possible help for the top 6 short term, maybe a deal around Harkins and a 5th round pick, and Comtois can possibly push Barron down the lineup when Ehlers returns, having had success with Lowry in the WC, but other than that, maybe take a contract off the Leafs, but nothing big. It's quite likely the last season for much of this core, and I think Chevy will stick with them till the end, unless the team falls out of the playoffs, then maybe a player like De Melo or Dillon gets auctioned off at the deadline, and who knows who else...

Still think there's a playoff team out of this roster. Which makes lateral trades difficult.
