Stanley for Hoglander please.

He always reminds me of Perreault whenever we play the Canucks. Maybe he's not that good but he always seems to play like an All Star against us.

Would you rather have Hoglander or Garland?

So if we trade Pionk, which would be my choice, are we comfortable with any of Heinola, Gawanke or Chisholm stepping up and stepping in to play the Right side?

If somebody wants a Right D, I doubt we're getting back anything useful on the right side. I think they gave Dillon and Samberg a quick look there in training camp. Likely we would need to insert an off side defenseman in that spot.

I'm ready for a new look on the backend. I don't think what we currently have, is a winning formula.

not sure. but the top-pair has been struggling this year. id get demelo back up there to stabilize them in the defensive end.

the time to have traded a dman/Pionk would've been in the off-season. teams are pretty tight against the cap, and - assuming it's a Fwd being returned - not sure who are some names that are out there available for trade.

Well, Heinola plays the right side a fair bit, Gawanke is a RHS - and then of course, we had an NHL ready RHS Dmen and tossed him on the scrap heap. So I doubt we are moving a RHS Dman.

I doubt we are moving any of the current top 5. IF we move anyone it would be Stan, Snerg or someone lower on the depth chart.

lol yeah, he's a useless plug who never could have played any part in improving the Jets flawed D corps. Funny how he can perform well for Habs though.

Nobody is saying he could ever have become that 1RD we have needed for years. But he could have been a perfectly good 3RD who could fill a spot if someone else was traded. He might even have been more effective than some of the much more expensive options we have now. Just maybe. Certainly would have been worth a try.

But Jets gave up on him without ever giving him a shot in spite of his steady development and good play in the A, so he obviously can't be any good. His good play for Mtl is all smoke and mirrors and he will soon crash and burn - because Jets could never fail to evaluate a player properly. :sarcasm:

Nick Schmaltz could be an interesting target if arizona is looking to move him, 26 shoots right last year before his m-ntc kicks in, nearly a ppg last season

Garland, myself. We need scoring a lot more than a pest. Although Hoglander seems to have more scoring touch than many in our bottom-six, I'd still rather have Garland's level of production down there. Although if he was playing with Lowsie instead of Miller/Horvat I don't know how much he'd score.

Honestly don't know enough about either player, but that's my gut feeling.

My thought also, but as you say, not knowing the players really well, it is hard to say.
