Are u serious? The guy has outperformed schiefele since he got to Vancouver. That would be like us taking tucker poolman and a bunch of scrubs for 55.
Have you followed the Canucks this season? A lot of fans are already crying about Millers contract and the new one has not even kicked in yet.

I think jets should take a look at JT Miller. He is a fantastic player who would fit in with this core and team. If Vancouver wants to get rid of him there is almost no one who could take this contract. I’m not worried about “the end” of his contract when the Jets need to win now.

Some kind of combination of Stanley, vesalainen, berdin, Harkins would do? Our serviceable players for their burden of a contract?
And other boards get shitted on for the proposals for our players.

Yeah, increasing volume of shit doesn't make a trade more equal.

I wonder if they'd take Schmidt back :p

Nate is doing fairly well this year with the new defensive systems, that being said we need to make room for the kids so he makes the most sense to trade likely. Nucks have several wingers wouldn't mind having in return even if we have to add a bit to Nate to make it happen.

Garland
Hoglander
Mikheyev

All three of them are under performing compared to their contracts so its not like we're trading a 2nd pairing RHD thats over paid for a great performing winger on a great contract. Its more of a trading a not great contract for another not great contract but positionally it makes hockey sense. Not sure if Nucks need RHD though

I feel like Big Sak is settling into our pest role but Hoglander can actually produce offense

With a nickname like that, that's a lot of weight to carry. Between him and Swedish Fjabio I think there's a chance of Kristian Vesalainen like production this year. Thank God for Gagner.

It must really suck to always expect the worst outcome.

I really enjoy feeling excited about the team and it's players, and if they don't hit the heights I've hoped for them, no big deal. It's just a game and entertainment.

This isn't aimed at you but I just don't understand why people would want to be negative and miserable about sport. Find a hobby that brings you happiness.

EDIT: What I also find hilarious is people were shitting on the Gagner acquisition too saying he was done, garbage yadda yadda yadda. I was excited to have him, and looking at last year when he scored 13 on a team with shit linemates, 4th line ice time and very little PP I was pumped to see what he could bring to our bottom six.

Now after what is not necessarily an unexpected start, people are singing his praises. I was happy the whole time.

I just say it as I see it. Fjabio had a shift there where he had nothing but open ice on the wing, puck comes to him, bobbles it, regains it, and by the time he can make a play puck's in the corner. Maenalanen has some skill, I'd like to see a big player like him put on the power move at least once off the wing. Give him credit for being physical early in the year, that is a noticeable part of his game...It's a completely different 4th line than last year, and the puck isn't going into the back of the net when they are out there, either way, so it's different. My opinion of Gagner hasn't changed since day 1, that's a good offseason acquisition by Chevy.

People fan differently. Not everyone can be a pie-eyed optimist like you, me and Sipowicz... :sarcasm:

I remember that play, I remember instantly saying had the pass been in front of him instead of his side he would have been gone...

So, is Bowness REALLY sick or is this some ploy to get Trotz to take over? :)

That’s not shocking. They haven’t won and have given up multiple leads. Fans tend to throw themselves off cliffs. GMs don’t however.

Yeah of anything they will can the coach and management will bring in their own guy. Bruce was an ownership higher prior to them hiring their POHO and GM.

If Dubas gets the hoof I wonder if we see Trotz >>> Leafs. Have to think they’d make him a solid offer.

He mentioned in the article that he would potentially be open to returning to the NHL (in some capacity) in the new year. You know tons of teams will want Barry, but how many will be in a position to implement a coaching or GM change mid-season?

Weren't they unsure they would being back Boudreau this summer? I seem to remember some hesitancy from GMJR.

The Leafs problem lies at Dubas feet. He is paying 3 guys 40 percent of his cap even the Oilers pay 3 guys 36 percent of the cap most teams top 3 is in that 30 to 33 percent range. It allows them add one/two/three quality players in their lineup. Hell the Leafs went into this season with 2 goalies who I would consider Bargain buys. Murray hasn't been good in 5 years or so and Samsonov is basically a backup.

They were only willing to honor his one year option. They weren't willing to negotiate anything long term for him. I think it's clear they are angling to have their own person in charge but had to honor the contract signed by ownership.

Schmidt's not a RHD.

Nucks need to gain cap space. They seriously need Dmen, either side.

Who the hell is Big Sak?
