The only players that fit the bill where they are "scorers" but won't required the Jets to part ways with much in the way of picks are guys like Garland and Boeser who can basically be had for free at this point if the Jets are willing to take on their full cap liability.

JVR?

Scoring forward, not formerly a scoring forward. JVR has 9 goals this season.

My guess is that is exactly who they are looking at. He is a natural RW and the org liked him on draft day.

Well if the Canucks pick up Stanley as part of a Boeser trade, they'd have the tallest and Jetsiest pairing in the league.

Do it, Nucks! That's a 13' 2" 3rd pairing!!!

Those guys could do the flying V all by themselves.

It doesn't really matter what Chevy does tomorrow. If the Jets make the playoffs, Ca-ching, he is golden. If the Jets miss, he's toast. His best bet is a Calgary loss tonight.
Yum, I love toast. Cinnamon raisin toast with melted butter is to die for. If Chevy becomes toast, I hope it’s that kind of toast.

Does eating him become cannibalism at that point? Is he still considered human? Wouldn’t it be better to not let that toast go to waste? I have so many questions.

The reserve fry cook, who only gets the keys to the fryer when the regular guy gets sick.

I mean, more power to him, and I have no doubt someone takes a flyer on all that 6'7" he brings, but he's had a long leash. Although it might be argued that his run might have begun a year earlier than it did.

And...

Said reserve fry cook is a big klutz...

And keeps getting burned...

Over... and over...

Most of the big fish are gone . There’s scraps left for us now .

Who is the "big fish" forward that's gone so far that you'd have us take at the price they went for? Personally other than Bjugstad (who is far from a "big fish") I don't think there's any other forward whose price I'd been willing to pay. Heck Bertuzzi went for a 1st+ when many of us a month ago had him as a secondary target for a 2nd. The prices are too high and the Jets are too far from contending this season for us to go for these types of moves. Would've been a different story if the record was like it was in early January.

Nino trade is different as he can flipped for a pick next season.

Chychrun was never an option here. Why do some of you think he was. It's obvious he wasn't. Arizona didn't want money back so how do the Jets trade for Chychrun if they don't want one of our current 8 d on the roster
The Jets didn't have to send back any players to make it work capwise. I think someone else here explained it.

Overblown issue. How many of the recent trades involve a player with NMC or NTC?

Gustaffson, Gostisbehere, Jensen, Chchryrun, Ekholm, Gavrikov, Schenn, Meier, Barbashev, Acciari, Laffery, Bertuzi, Bjustad, O'Reilly, Puljujarvi, Nyquist or Neidomeie?

I guess there was Patrick Kane for whom NYR was the only destination.
To answer your question, I don't know how many recent trades involved NMC or NTC.

Do you?

Please share with us your knowledge of these players' contracts.

Some of you need to get over yourselves and understand that we have no clue what Is or isn't going on with the Jets. There are very little leaks from them, ppl talking like Chevy didn't do anything guess forget he was the first west gm to make a good value trade (nieddereitter)

Chychrun lol, ppl are seriously over rating him. Dudes a big question mark.. my guess is he's exposed in the quicker paced East.
He is a top-pairing d-man. The only question mark is his injury history. You are unlikely to find 64 d-man better than him.

Chevy replaced an injured Perfetti with Nino so that didn't really improve the team. Last month or month before, Chevy said he would be adding players to the team...and that was long before Cole was injured. He will need to add either an upgrade on D or a legit 3rd line player (maybe middle 6) to show tangible evidence that the team has improved.

I have this feeling Boeser is who Chevy is looking at.

He can score.
He has term.
He's a RW, where we are a bit thin.
He's from MN.
His current salary almost matches our current cap space available ($6.65M AAV vs ~$5.4M).

Boeser makes sense if the cost is low and they retain salary. $6.65 is a pretty big cap hit to bring forward the next couple seasons.
