Only thing I can come up with is Vegas is getting him super cheap and hoping the chip on his shoulder propels him into outperforming his past ~4 seasons :dunno:
Maybe even getting paid a pick to take Quick's contract?
At least Quick would know a couple of ex Kings on that team, and a goalie who practices with the team daily would know a lot of shooter habits of the players, which helps the current goaltending. Brossoit would probably be involved in that trade.

I cannot see them trading him They put too much effort into making him a player.
This could be a rouse and someone else is on the move...

How do we miss out on chuchryn. For that little of a price ? Everyone’s going so hard getting so many players and we just sit around trying to get a bargain.

This is why Winnipeg will always be a small market Mickey Mouse team

I wonder how the players feel
That’s a Mick E Moose team thank you. :)

Who is this guy? A Blues insider? Strange source, unless the Jets and Blues are talking, and I can't see Chevy trying to get any of St. Louis's NTC top 4 d-men. Bortuzzo though, he might be a good fit for the same role, different side.

I like Big Stan, he hasn't exactly shown he can dominate, and any player wants to play rather than sit, especially young players, so we'll see how this one plays out.
Yeah, not sure who this guy is. My buddy texted me and told me he’s not a reputable source.

That said, I’d be open to trading Stanley. Some GM will overvalue him and I’m not sure how much more he’ll improve.

His value likely won’t get any higher.

Andy Strickland's credible enough that I believe it. Not hard to imagine that Stanley's agent is just making media rounds and Strickland was the first to publicize.

No issue moving Stanley. We have Samberg who's passed him, Heinola really needs to start getting NHL minutes, and even Chisholm will need to go through waivers next year.

Either for a pick, or possibly in a deal for a forward that can help us now.

I will tell my buddy to give his head a shake. Thanks. :thumbu:

If the return isn't good enough for their perceived value of Stanley I wonder if they (spitefully?) hold onto him to prevent a potential cascade of trade demands.

we need players with term, the only way we can build a contending team is by drafting and filling in the rest in with trades
We've traded for players without term before. It's fine to do both. And as I said it probably expands the number of players who are willing to come here for a few months as opposed to not wanting to come here for a couple years. If it means giving us a better chance of actually chance of winning in the playoffs you go for it.

Good deal for a top-5 league winger.

Accomplishments:

1 1st team all star
Finished 4th in Hart voting
2 times top 10 points
3 times top 10 PPG
3 times top 10 goals
4 times top 10 GPG

Currently 2nd in goals and 4th in points.

Since 2016-17 Pastrnak is 9th in points.

Guy is elite.

it's ok to do it sometimes, we can't afford to do it all the time. there are 3 ways to get players, draft, trade and free agency. free agency doesn't work for us so it's the draft + trades. if we trade our draft picks for players without term then we are just going to be building thru trades which won't be worth it if they are only here for a few months

If anyone should be requesting a trade, it’s Heinola and not Stanley.

Anyone remember how angry the fanbase was when Heinola only alluded to potentially going elsewhere for more opportunity?

Well Stanley just ratcheted that up a notch by actually demanding a trade. Despite getting a lot more opportunity

Report is likely accurate but has it been confirmed Stanley actually requested a trade?

Not by anyone else yet, but the bigger media names are still busy talking about players that are more relevant than a 6-7th defenseman.

And our local media are usually afraid to rock the boat by confirming things they hear. Edit: At least before someone with more clout from the national media does it first.
