I've been saying this for the last 3+ years. You have an owner with deep pockets who wants a bargain team and an arena there. The NHL just can't admit that they failed there and that it will never succeed,
In a way though how much do you think other GMs appreciate having one dumpster team in the Cap era, where any mistake you make can be traded away? The NHL sure as hell doesn't want a team playing in an arena smaller than the Wheat Kings capacity in the playoffs, At least the Coyotes are being realistic about their current revenue potential and investing in semi-retired players that insurance pays for.

So much for AZ not being willing to take back $$$ and cap hit.
Voracek doesn't cost much this year but gets 7.5 mil next year.

Edit: And all they got was a 6th.

Samberg should be the long term LD untouchable for the Jets. Stanley needs to go to a team that needs offense zone play with a Demelo like player to baby him.

Insured if he can't play, assuming they think he's toast.

So were we showcasing Stanley because he asked for a trade earlier or trying to get him into the lineup to prevent a public trade request

Note that Samberg would likely be sitting tomorrow for Stanley, assuming Stanley doesn't get traded before the game tomorrow.

Who is this guy? A Blues insider? Strange source, unless the Jets and Blues are talking, and I can't see Chevy trying to get any of St. Louis's NTC top 4 d-men. Bortuzzo though, he might be a good fit for the same role, different side.

I like Big Stan, he hasn't exactly shown he can dominate, and any player wants to play rather than sit, especially young players, so we'll see how this one plays out.

friedman said after the nino trade that there has been a lot of talk around stanley and people were surprised he wasn't trade in the nino deal

Chevy should be kicking tires on Parayko.

If (if) Chevy is done, what was the point of the Nino trade? Seems useless in isolation. Like changing one tire at a pit stop.

That's the trouble with trying to go up the middle. You could end up with the worst of both worlds.

Quick to Vegas is amazing for several reasons.

Only thing I can come up with is Vegas is getting him super cheap and hoping the chip on his shoulder propels him into outperforming his past ~4 seasons :dunno:
Maybe even getting paid a pick to take Quick's contract?

We showcased Stanley last game, and that didn’t go well. I guarantee some GM sees a 1st round reclamation project and will pay accordingly though, hopefully with a player we actually need. I also find it a bit ironic that he requested a trade when he’s bad, and the organization went through hell and back to turn him into an actual NHLer. Whatever.

I’ll be telling my grandkids about the 2023 NHL trade deadline, this has been a beaut

He probably should, but would Parayko waive to come here? I mean maybe the allure of playing top pairing with Morrissey is worth something. The other thing to consider would be the asking price. Stocking St. Louis last time came back to haunt us. Though the ride with Stastny was fun, and Parayko isn't a rental.

I have np sending Stanley. He was a risk, did not pan out, so let him get the chance to earn some cash, just like we did with Kov..

We didn't showcase him, we had no forwards available and needed to dress 11-7 to dress a full roster.

He played the NYR game over Samberg. The second half of the B2B with the Devils I think?
