Just a mathematical thought. If Johansen is done done, his contract is insured and the cap hit is LTIR. You theoretically can package him with Duchene and the cap hit is cancelled till the last yr of Duchene's contract and only have to pay 8 mil a yr because Johansen's contract would be insured. To break it down,

Cap wise you only have to pay 8 million cap on the last year of Duchene's contract in 3 yrs

Cash wise, you have to pay Duchene, Johansen might be done for the career. IF he is done done.
That’s not how that works. The LTIR player still counts against the cap. It would be Johansen ($8M) + Duchene ($8M) - LTIR Relief ($8M) = Net ($8M). Teams don’t gain any cap space simply by acquiring LTIR contracts.

Wow, I guess it is done.

Pins and needles...

What return are you guys hoping for?

Broberg... and... just about anything after him. I would settle for 2 1sts or a 1st+other "A" prospect, but Broberg is really the slam dunk fit to our organizational needs.

started a thread for the ekholm trade. Expecting a lot of pieces and that way we can continue to talk about all the other pieces possibly moving (fabbro, Saros, sissons, Duchene).

This is crazy.

We apparently traded future considerations again for

Austin Rueschhoff

Barry bringing in a 6'6 and a 6'7 guy for future considerations.

Did we accidently hire Fenton? Lmao

The other Haslem bro bought the Bucks. Maybe he will have them double dip?

OK,

1) The viking goes to the land of ice and snow, wish him well

2) 12! picks in 2023

3) The other Haslem brother bought the Bucks, is he going to disband the Bucks G-league team and have the Ads play for them?

4) Nashville now has 4! 1st rd forwards; Kemell, Svechkov, L'Heureux, and now Schaeffer.

5) Barrie, deal in place to move him? Toronto?

Bringing the Fabbro/Barrie/Carrier talk here. What's Barrie's waiver status and why would they even have to waive anyone? Why trade any of these guys right now? Figure out what you have in them and go from there after the season or next TDL.
