Then he'll either play well or get waived and his salary will be stashed in the minors. I'll be surprised if he doesn't retire given he was already looking at a season in the minors with Chicago's AHL team.

Come on guys, there are other things worth worrying about. Scuderi's 2nd contract year is not one of them.

See above.

But Hoff is gone after the year with no salary to have to stash in the minors.

Also, Scuderi sucks.

I will worry about next season if the move seems to hurt us next season and not help this season, which this apparently does.

Let's see if Penner cleared up that TMZ-reported incident from December so we can bring him back as the answer to the goal scoring problems.

Helping Chicago is awesome too. I'm not on the ledge over this deal, but it feels like a fart in the face.

Saving 250,000 for what? Hoffa contact was up at the end of the year,Scuds has another year and we have lil to no cap to sign the ayers we need to now. Rosen reported Blake saying the Kings aren't giving up top prospects/ high picks for players that would upgrade the needs to contend.Looks as if Dean will pylon shop and dumpster dive.

Yes. No hesitation.

Yes, I probably feel the same way. Probably would be nice to know that another youngster is on the way that might be able to replace Pearson beginning next season, but I'm not sold on that. Everyone really likes Kempe, but I think he's smaller than Pearson so it may take him a little while to have the same type of impact, if he ever does.

It's not that I care about losing Ehrhoff as much as I'm just confused as to why this deal was made in the first place. Doesn't seem to have majorly helped either team.

It's amazing that people are already forgetting how bad Ehrhoff was. Guy was rubbish.

Definitely. I tried so hard to defend the guy and say, "Oh look, he made a good play" but he never did. It was error after error after error. Absolutely no one near him on a breakout and he would always double back and force his partner to have to make play.

Helps the Kings immediately (about $250,000 in cap savings) and they get a marginally better player. Regardless of what the Kings do with Scuderi next season, it helps the Hawks because they got rid of him and are saving some money.

What happens if the Kings send Scuderi to the minors next year? It looks like his annual Cap hit will be $1.125M so not sure if all of that would count towards the Cap or not.

You get 950K credit on any player in the minors if they make more than that. So he would cost the team 175K to have him buried next year.
