Ehrhoff doesn't help chicago, he's just a contract going the other way for numbers reasons. If they decide to play him....then he certainly doesn't help Chicago.

We've got more than enough cap space to make whatever moves we need for this season. This is a textbook Dean Lombardi depth move.

Scuderi's contract doesn't expire this year, and if it's over a 950k cap hit the Kings will have a cap hit next year for it.

Dunno, I think there's a fair chance Ehrhoff is at least decent in the Hawks system. Seenms like a better fit for him.

Just sent him on a covert 3 year mission to steal contending teams' playbooks.

Sucked his way out of town while hurting other teams' caps, and is now home to play top minutes with Doughty as an elite shutdoahahahahaha I can't finish

should have clarified - not saying Ehrhoff helps Chicago, I'm saying if this move frees up cap space for Chicago or gives them further flexibility to somehow add another impact guy then that is basically helping out your biggest rival at the deadline. Headscratcher.

And unrelated, why are we rumored to be looking at Chad Johnson too? are we going to trade Quick or something?

I'm really confused by this. Scuds biggest contribution in '12 was getting boarded. Now we have another useless, old, d-man for an extra year. If we wanted a garbage tier d-man there are so many other teams we could have done business with. Why the **** are we helping Chicago? The only team that can really destroy us in the Playoffs. I don't get it.

Disagree in 2012 he was a key part of this team.

2014 he was replaced by RR.

My piss off is the fact he has term.

Which won't be on the books. Lombardi doesn't make this trade unless he's confident the contract isn't a factor next year, we just saw that with Vinny.

They could have slapped on a 4th rounder and shipped him off to Buffalo/Edmonton.

If the guys as done as everyone here is so sure of, what's the worry? 37 year old 2 time Stanley Cup Champions don't like playing in the minors/press box of 3 different teams in one season when they could be at home watching their kids grow up.

Honestly, why even make this trade? Seems like standing pat would make more sense, unless we're somehow coming out ahead by shedding a bit of Ehrhoff's salary?

The worry is it'll take Sutter 26 games or so to figure out that Scuderi's done.

this or getting a pick is the only reason i can think that we'd make this move

in terms of on-ice play, i'd rather have Jeff Schultz, McBain, Gravel, or maybe even Forbort. Maybe Scuds proves us all wrong, but this all just doesn't add up as it stands

I agree with this post and wanted to quote it so it does not get lost in the shuffle

Does getting Scuds back help us go after someone else this deadline cap wise? There has to be more to this. This can't just be a change of scenery trade.
