to be fair, Duclair is now on his third team, so Arizona isn't the only one who hasn't seen enough from him. Just from his play with the Hawks I can see a player that tantalizes you with raw ability but likely always keep you wanting more from him. Similar player to Chris Kreider who has all the damn skill in the world - world class speed and shot, yet never hits over 30 goals. 6'3 225lbs with absolute jets, dude should be dominating not leaving people going what the **** some nights...I see the same with Duclair.

sometimes you have to know when to fold them, and with the amount of talented youth the Coyotes have coming up, they have no time to waste on guys stagnating or not giving it their all every night. them moving Duclair and Domi I see as not a failure but as a way to make room for other promising players.

they traded Duclair away for an older player, that tells me everything I need to know that they just aren't trying to build assets, they are trying to build winners together and they simply do not envision Duclair and Domi as their core players.
From my understanding ... to be fair to Duclair ... NYR traded him to Arizona as a main part of the package for Keith Yandle. Arizona wanted Duclair as he had shown great promise on WJuniors and in his limited games with the Rangers plus his chemistry with Domi on the WJuniors. So there isn't a pattern here with Duke. The pattern more appears to be with Arizona screwing things up with their team.
I wouldn't mind getting Domi if it didn't mean our 1st round pick.
Suck for Tkachuk!!! By suck I don't mean tank!!! I mean embrace the mediocrity of " it is what it is " ...

No. Nobody pays 10.5M for Toews. Nobody. Nobody takes Toews off our hands even if the Hawks retain 3-4M in salary and add a sweetener like say hartman or Hayden and Hino. Even with that --- Toews/Hawks retain 4M and give both Hartman and Hino --- that still would not net a 1st round pick.

There will be no "booking". Toews is an anchor on the Hawks and will remain so until he retires. There is no way to off-load him --- no one in their right mind takes a player that performs at a 4-5M level and pays him 10.5M. We could not sweeten the pot enough and/or retain enough to pull off a trade.

Both Toews and Seabs are the Hawks and Hawks to bear for the duration.

Was just messing around. For better or worse Toews will go down with the ship. Can only hope he gets back to half of what he was. If he can be clutch in the playoffs I'll take it but not holding my breath.

If the Hossa situation proved anything it's that there's nothing to fear from recapture. Said it before he retired. The league doesn't want to come down on teams that spend money.
That's because in all likelihood Hossa wanted out.was cool with it.
If Keith wants to stay and we trade him, we're effed. Keith holds the cards, not Stan; just like Hossa. The only way Keith goes anywhere is if he wants to go.

Wildcard spot and lose in the 1st round .... or ... this kid ............

Brady Tkachuk, LW, Boston University (H-EAST): He is the upgraded version of his brother, Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk. Brady (6-3, 196) appears to have better offensive potential and can easily get under his opponents' skin.

I would take that kid in a heart beat

If hawks win next 3 games, they’ll be back in the hunt. If they lose 2 of them. I will 100% finally believe they won’t make it. Huge games this week. Calgary, dallas, Minnesota

Has this team won 3 in a row all year? I can't recall....

That's all well and good. He's...-23 on the season. I don't give a **** about his advanced stats. He's a sieve, defensively. Only two guys on that team are worse. He doesn't help this team at all. He's also 30 years old, and being paid 5.5M. And he has a NTC/NMC. He is only declining from here on out.... The Hawks need exactly ZERO additional 30+ defensemen. They need to get younger, and cheaper.

honestly, if you are looking at his plus/minus I do not know what to tell you.

the Montreal Canadiens are a -25 as a team, of course Petry who is on the ice for 24 minutes a night is going to have a shitty plus/minus. but ignore actual stats and facts and call the guy names...got it!

I keep seeing all the people still talking about trading Toews or not going to be able to trade Toews and his contract.

Honestly, does anyone else think the only option to trade Toews might be in 2 years when Seattle comes into the league?

The team could easily eat his contract, he would be playing closer to home and in a pretty crazy market (plus his vegan diet stuff and lifestyle would fit in perfectly there)...If there is one situation where Toews waives his NMC, I can see Seattle being it especially since they will be drafting a team just like Vegas got..

I am not down on Toews as others are, so I am fine keeping him here...just figured the one team that likely would or could take him in that he would possibly want to play for would be a new Seattle expansion team.

yup, unless Stan pulls off one hell of a trade, this rat faced gremlin will be tearing it up for some other NHL team for the next decade.
i don't know why, but i really don't see him as a top 8 player in this draft.... and that is a stretch.

Winnipeg is closer to Seattle than Chicago?

If Seattle makes sense in two years, then why doesn't Vegas make sense now?

Lol, I don't see Toews caring that he is closer to the border, while being further away from his home town.

I don't know what Toews wants or likes, he is a Canada boy, and that area is beautiful for him as he seems like the mountain hiking, forest walking, bike trail riding, rain catching guy of late...not many other team destinations seem like Toews would waive his NMC...but Seattle for me somehow does to me, I can't explain it...he can head right to BC and party it up with Nickelback if he wants as well.

I'm willing to bet that Toews isn't happy with Toews right now. If he doesn't have a medical issue, fingers crossed that he returns to a semblance of what he was... whatever that takes. If he does get traded, blow er up. A player likes Toews is not replaceable... at least not overnight. It would take years to climb back.

The only leader-type that I see in the current org is John Hayden, and he will never be a Jonny Toews.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Toews has already approached Bowman and requested a trade to a city where it is marginally easier to find vegan food.
