If were going for Chychrun I’d like to see Crouse coming with him. We have to move out Kerfoot to for it to work cap wise.
In:Chychrun Crouse
Out:Sandin Kerfoot picks/prospects

Playoff Lineup
Bunting Matthews Marner
Crouse JT Nylander
Knies Kampf Jarnkrok
Engvall Holmberg ZAR

Rielly Chychrun
Brodie Gio
Lily Holl/Timmins/Muzzin?
This is the team I'd love to be going into the playoffs with and it is do-able. You add size and grit to the second and third line as well as solidifying a good defence already. Crouse at 6'4" 220 lbs, Kampf 6'2" 200 lbs, and Knies 6'1" 210 lbs would be a handful to manage. Imagine if that third pairing is Lily and a healthy, rested Muzzin. Make it happen Dubas and I'll be happy.

Brad Marchand said it best
"If you look at our team in the past, guys have tried to take less to win because we know that it bleeds through the lineup," Marchand said. "If you can have six guys that make lower salary other than three it's a lot harder to play against and that's why we've been good for so long."

Until this is fixed Leafs are going nowhere,
Marchand won 1 cup and it was during his entry level contract. 1 cup in 13 full seasons and you are submitting Marchand as an expert on how to win?
Who took lower salaries back in 2011 that had leverage for more?

I wonder what Marchand is going to say if David Pastrnak re-signs with Boston and gets 8 years/$12 million AAV.

Not that I'd want to defend Marchand too much on any front, but I would have happily taken a cup from the Matthews core during their ELC's.

Marchand's clutch and winning ways are probably overstated. They look good compared to Toronto though.

Point is that Marchand was on an elc and in no position to contribute through his contractual benevolence.

Again, I don't want to put myself in a position to side with Marchand too much, but he scored 11 goals and 19 points on that run while being a super pest.

Earlier I brought up what Marchand said might say if Pastrnak re-signed for 8 years and $12 million AAV. I just remember Nathan MacKinnon said something similar about taking less money on his next contract. That turned out to be false because last offseason after Colorado won the Stanley Cup, MacKinnon signed an 8 year contract extension, and next season he's going to be making $12.6 million AAV.

Bargain star MacKinnon says he'd take less money again to help Avalanche win | ProHockeyTalk | NBC Sports

8 yr deals buddy for both McAvoy and Lindholm (6.5 AAV btw for Lindholm has 33 points in 51 games this season)

and what about Taylor Hall contract?

here is hoping pasta breaks the bank though
Pasta will sign a Bruin friendly 8 year knowing Tor really screwed up with paying 4 guys. He is Bruin for life.

I said this before and I will say it again. Nathan MacKinnon said the same thing about taking less money and a team friendly deal from the Avalanche. Instead, he signs a contract extension for 8 years and $12.6 million AAV, which means next year he's going to make more money than Connor McDavid.

Just because Brad Marchand talks about the Bruins players taking team friendly deals doesn't mean anything. It's one thing to talk about it, however it's another thing to back that up and actually do that.

Ya and all this in his ELC…….what did our guys do in their ELC’s

We can argue all day long about who said what and who is on a team friendly contract but the fact remains that Bostons players are paid a lot less and won a cup early in their tenure.
we have 3 guys around the 11 million dollar mark and didn’t win a cup in their early years……..in fact this core hasn’t even won a single round……….a bloody single round In 6 bloody years straight.
You just can’t build a team that top heavy switch spoiled players

If the Leafs get Chychrun, Knies is going in that deal 100%!!!

At at 9.5 mil McAvoy is handsomely paid for those 8 years.
Also Lindholm has rebounded nicely but was a shadow of himself the previous couple years. He hadn't earned any more than he signed for.

Hall is irrelevant to my point, as I never stated they have no deals that were below market. Just that not everyone in their core, by any means, abides by what Marchand said.

Since the Leafs needs to KO their opponents in the playoffs, and already got the O in O’Reilly, all it’s left is get the K to form KO.
Wonder will Kessel come back, lol.
