8 yr deals buddy for both McAvoy and Lindholm (6.5 AAV btw for Lindholm has 33 points in 51 games this season)

and what about Taylor Hall contract?

here is hoping pasta breaks the bank though

Holl has paced about 55 points a season since joining the team. If anything he's gotten an overpay of a deal.

Edit: closer to 61 points after a mistake. Though still not exactly close to a steal of a deal from a team pov

I am pacing to date all the HOT supermodels but I know in reality I won't get there ( as for Holl see some info below).

This Game 6 OT Justin Holl?

Is this Game 7 Justin Holl?

Or the Justin Holl that has the highest total of 23 points?

A 3C and a 2/3 LW under contract for longer than this year. The better the players, the bigger the costs, but if they are intent on going big, I don't want to see major assets burned for 1 run in the playoffs.

I initially mistakenly included a Sabers season where he paced for 42 points which lowered the average. As a Bruin he's paced 61 points.
Sorry friend, I was injecting myself into a conversation I hadn't fully read. I was referencing the Holl/Hall mis-spelling. Cheers.

I don’t see Dubas doing much, if anything maybe some minor 4line slug.
im not sure I want him doing anything and I certainly don’t want him depleting our already thin prospect pool or draft picks

Probably something stupid that further messes up the team.

For example, as someone suggested here, trading the only one of the top four actually outperforming his contract for picks.

how about a three pack of expiring contracts from St. Louis not named OReilly.
Barbashev, Aciari, Mikkola.

Bunts - AM - Will
Barbashev - JT - MM
Jarnkrok - Aciari - Kerf
Engvall - Kampf - ZAR

Mikkola can swap in and out with Sandin depending on the game.

I think the Team would like to stand pat but will make some minor moves just to appease the fans and show they are going for it.

I dont think this is their approach. You don't make moves to make fans happy, you make them because you believe it makes the team better. Otherwise they hang on to the assets.

I think this is a buyer's market and Horvat's deal already set the bar low. Hopefully they shake the tree hard and something worthy falls out. Hopefully we dont lose Knies or Sandin/ Lilly.

All of this will happen :sarcasm:. Joking aside, the more I played the Fantasy Armchair GM, the more I realized, there are a lot of changes that need to happen for this team to be more than a wildcard contender (if things go our way maybe we get to the 2nd round) to being a TB, Boston type contender (if they play their game they are in the SCF).

We basically have to mortgage our future and have every other team agree to retain salary. Is a team with 3 superstars built/coached properly if you have to mortgage your future to win one round?

Folks I think this is going to be another 1st round exit.

Thinking the Leafs have a thin prospect pool means you don’t have a clue
Thinking they do shows your basic lack of understanding of what prospects are.
And that’s not even addressing the fact that the team they ice on a nightly basis is very shallow outside of the expensive 4

I say Dubas is going All In Anthopolous style! Last Year of his deal, he has to go big, to either be resigned or have better job prospects if he is not retained. A piece with term would be great, I think Forward, a top 6 is the most glaring need or a Centre that can play 3rd line but also move up to the LW to create 2 stacked lines for matchups in the playoffs.

If he goes with minor moves, I think that is a sign that he will be resigned or has a contract in place. I can't see him standing pat, although we have the ability to get out of the 1st round with this team, he needs to take a swing.

I’m curious to see how Dubas approaches the deadline knowing that he might not be in control of the team moving forward and therefore doesn’t have to worry about any contract issues (Meier QO) or any prospects. If he does win then he’s forced to sort out any mess he makes so it’s a tricky situation for him.

At the same time. If Dubas' moves on to another team he's going to want to argue he left the team in a good spot. Not much motivation to leave a pile of rubble so to speak

I assume it'll be business as usual since he is looking for that next contract (either here or elsewhere). I don't imagine he'll be going for broke just because...
