I like the player and if the price is right, you should add a good player but he's not really adding a new element we lack.

No, but he adds quality depth scoring which is a team need a lot of people are overlooking imo.

We didn't lose to Tampa because we lacked toughness, or defense. We lost because, after our top 6, nobody but Kampf contributed much of anything up front.

Dubas goes all in. His job is on the line.
definitely sire. We will get a big one. Evander kane, brayden schenn, henrique type lf shit you heard me. That goofy Adam lowry type of dirt. Glendeling fool type. Yall already know. We need stupid ones. Luke schenn is coming in. Gudas if Florida is out of the picture. Letvchi has revealed that maurice is a nerve wreck right now. We are getting some souljas in dont you worry bout a damn thang like the bone thugs sangeth.

Will this be Kyle's last deadline as a GM in the league? Or just for the Leafs? Or neither? Interested to find out.

With our lack of high end draft picks in the next few drafts I would expect something like Domi and or Schenn as "possible" additions. A concern is Schenn's lack of mobility and Domi's propensity for stupid penalties but I'm tired seeing high picks walking out the door. We're going nowhere if our big 3 don't really get involved in the playoffs either way so I'm in the "work around the edges and keep your first round picks and the few high end prospects we have" camp. If Marner and Willie and Auston don't come to play in the playoffs we're sunk anyway. Oh and the goaltending is iffy and we can't patch all the holes in the lineup so let 'er ride basically with what we've got......imo.

Brad Marchand said it best
"If you look at our team in the past, guys have tried to take less to win because we know that it bleeds through the lineup," Marchand said. "If you can have six guys that make lower salary other than three it's a lot harder to play against and that's why we've been good for so long."

Until this is fixed Leafs are going nowhere,

that's the ultimate truth.

not sure how the team will win after matthews re signs for 17m++ per year

What words in the OP confused you? This has nothing to do with the topic.
If you need help, just ask.
+My bad I guess I could have been more clear, I see the leafs finally realizing you can not tie up almost 1/2 your cap in 4 very soft players, trade one for 3 players with jam and heart

I see the leafs add another 3rd liner that can move up to the second if Kerfoot/Jancrok aren’t producing with Tavares.

The defense I don’t think they add and ride what they got.

Yeah Chicago and Toronto trade is inevitable tbh.

McCabe
Murphy
Lafferty
Domi
Blackwell reunion?

Lot of assets that make sense for us

If I'm GM, Willie has to go. I love him, he's great but the Leafs don't need 4 star forwards and he will definitely be getting paid $10.5+ this summer (and he will hold out for it until he's UFA - Michael's his dad and mentor). I only single him out because they can pry Matthews and Marner from my cold dead foam Leafs finger and there's no way to move Tavares against his will. I would trade him for picks but preferably for a shutdown D or another/better goalie option. Enough's enough with we-can-and-we-will, Ask yourself honestly: does Nylander really change the team's prospects for this year's playoffs? I say no way so what's the point in risking losing another valuable asset to free agency or, in the best case scenario, handcuffing the team even more salary-wise?

Thinking about it more, given the amount of teams looking to sell, I won't be surprised if the Leafs potentially hold off on making any early moves and decide waits to see if some guys get sold for discount prices at the last minute by teams going all out tank mode.

It's a difficult question because I'm not sure the Leafs themselves know yet what they will likely do.

At the very least they probably add something for the bottom six as they continue to try and get it organized.

Without trying to ignite strong reactions, the biggest question facing poor Dubie this trade deadline is whether or not he moves Knies. That will determine if we go for major impact.

I'd wager minor to medium additions, replacing Muzzy with a passable replacement and/or a weak top six or strong bottom six forward. Plus a 4th line/depth forward.

It's hard to gauge the market at the deadline but you might be right. Big buyers like Bolts, Bruins, and Avs are fairly depleted at this point.

The Devils have their pick of the litter, and the Kings, Jets, and Wild (bar cap troubles) can all amp up the buyer side. And the Pens will sell their first on the street if they can't get rid of it at the deadline.

either Leafs are going to seriously overpay for the top6 LW (it will have to come via retention by 2 teams; leafs don't have cap room)
OR
stay put.

I don't think they add any d-man.

hon mention: they made some depth forward depending on cap situation for the bottom 6 that has some experience. not sure how confident they are with holmberg as the 4th line center

Yup, just like McAvoy and Lindholm didn't take any discount either.
The idea everyone in Boston has been leaving money on the table is a fallacy.

8 yr deals buddy for both McAvoy and Lindholm (6.5 AAV btw for Lindholm has 33 points in 51 games this season)

and what about Taylor Hall contract?

here is hoping pasta breaks the bank though
