Agree with this generally. But the big issue really comes down to whether he can improve the 3rd line performance as long as we insist on keeping Lowry at C. My own view is that Chevy continues to misjudge how difficult a challenge this truly is... .

Agreed, seems he and the org are still blinded by 17-18. Lowry isn't the same player and the league has evolved since then.

Having said that I imagine it isn't easy or ideal to try to build a new third line from scratch at the deadline. What I hope is we see a change in philosophy this summer.

Tried that, everytime I go to sign in it kicks me out to the Bell media check site and then goes back to TSN not signed in.
Have you tried opening a private/incognito window and logging in that way?

namestnikov is an upgrade over most of our bottom-6ers. he seems to fit the mold of defensive & offensively inefficient bottom-6er that this team customarily rosters. im not sure what else folks were expecting at this point? most of the publicized high valued guys (top 6 Fwds or top-4 Ds) have already gone. i don't think this teams second half has instilled any confidence to make an aggressive move including a 1st+ either. maybe there's a last minute seller that puts a quality top-6er on the market (similar to Blues in 17-18).

nothing but a bunch of garbage changing hands today. Chevy why don’t you make a move for a player with term don’t be so cheap with your draft picks. Because you’re not gonna be here in two years anyway to even use them.

I'm not sure a lot of players with term are available today.

It’s a known fact that there are several players with term available for the right price but obviously Chevy doesn’t wanna pay anything.
Or the right price is for the selling team and not the buying team?

Im sure many teams not just the Jets want good players with term if the deal is good

Jets being out on JVR tells me that they are not big time buyers. That seems like a team that had an asset budget that they were willing to spend on players in each category and spending a 4th for a Namestnikov was their asset budget for a forward on an expiring contract.

There is no other reason that the Jets getting VN would take them out of the JVR running as the price would be similar and the Jets have enough capspace

Winning a cup comes at a price sometimes . Not to Chevy though .

Long term Nashville model

Get into a wildcard and get playoff revenue every year and hopefully get lucky

Chevy is just taking it to the next level .

No rush to win anything here in Winnipeg

Is it? You'd like JT Miller? Keeping in mind Van said no to a trade without a C coming back. Who else?
