Since there was talk shortly before the last topic was locked about EP, I wish we'd take our offer for Meier and make it for EP. I'd be willing to replace Morrow with Nikishin, and if we're trying to get EP, we should trade KK instead of having a 5 million dollar 4th line center, and to add value for Vancouver (KK has played a lot better since around the New Year). I doubt we'll offer Jarvis though.

Since there was talk about Miller again, if we're gonna talk to Vancouver, it shouldn't be about Miller. It should be about EP even if it seems unlikely at this point he's traded, or at the very least, for Boeser with retention.

Similarly, if we're gonna talk to Arizona, it shouldn't be about Schmaltz, it should be about Crouse. I said before weeks ago that if we didn't get Meier, Crouse would be a good back up plan, and I still feel that way.

If Buchnevich is available from St. Louis, he's also one of the few good back up plans that'd be worthy of some top assets.

last around the league was over 3K, and it seems like all the fun is already happening, so doing this as the deadline day GDT a few days early. Will open a new "Around The League" after the deadline
Panicking time

I think we should all expect a ton of Carolina rumors and speculation until they actually do something. Every other contender has traded their 1sts and prospects. Carolina is at the top of the league.

One of the only things left for the media to talk about is "What will Carolina do". It is one of the only storylines left.

I could see Edmonton making a big attempt at Saros if he's available. Doubt he actually will be with term left and Trotz calling the shots, though.

WHY.

f***. Anderson kooch and Raanta are fine. God we're gonna do something dumb.
I mean, I love Freddie, Raanta, and Kooch....

But if there's a reasonable path to get Saros to play behind our current defense, f***ing do it. That's how you completely neutralize what NYR and NJ are doing to load up offensively. Freddie and Raanta are excellent, but Saros can play to another level.

Whoa.

Big picture wise, he'd be worth top assets particularly after this season.

Our front office probably thinks that if we're gonna give up big assets, let's consider him since he'd "increase our odds" of winning the cup as Dundon said.

on Daily Faceoff Live - Saravelli just said the Canes have circled back with the Flyers about Hayes after missing out on Meier, says it all depends on the amount of $$$ they'd be willing to retain. the Avs and Wild also sniffing around he says...return could be "juicy" if the right amount of salary retained
Yeah if we can get Hayes down to about 4.5 per or Duchene at 5 I'm becoming more and more OK with them. Certainly not options 1-5 this deadline, but of those options the only one that's available (and that's a maybe, cause I'm not sure Florida sells) is Reinhart.

Why would we care about a goalie? Andersen is playing well, Koochie is ready to come up if we need depth, Raanta is perfectly serviceable as a backup.
We have easily the most fragile goaltender tandem in the league. All it takes is one freak hair-combing or checkbook-balancing incident and we are calling David Ayres.

Can't say I'm fond of Hayes as a pickup, but I think he's more likely to be dealt at $4.5M or less than Duchene is at $5M.

Of the two, I think Duchene makes much more sense. The idea of putting Duchene as the offensive #2C between Teravainen and Necas is a very interesting one.
