Roy for Callahan would be fine with me. Roy's contract isn't expensive. Gives us another C option and saves STL money next year to sign Miller. They get Cally strictly as a rental and we stop dreaming about Stastny.

What if acquiring Roy gives the rangers a possibility to trade stepan for one of kesler or Jordan Staal? You never know, however the Roy news hasn't grown into anything yet its just a garrioch tweet for now so we'll see tomorrow night what goes on...
 
Not really interested in moving Stepan for either of those guys. Stepan is young, good defensively and will improve. Staal is a couple years older, better defensively, worse offensively right now. Don't see the need. Kesler is too old. Totally lateral.

If Vanek goes to the Ducks that's good for us, maybe forces the hand of another western team to trade for Cally

agreed.

not sold on the "will improve" part but steps is a very good player. hes no 1c though. his skating still scares me.

i dont move him for either of those guys. younger, faster, bigger. thats the only way i move him.

am i crazy for still hoping tomas vanek becomes a nyr ? hes the one guy who i have coveted for years.

Well he I don't know if there is a substance abuse problem with Rundblad, but he doesn't play defense.

Also has not put on muscle mass to develop strength. Still built like a teenager, but he is a very pretty skater.

Looks like Brian Boytano out there with his lateral agility.

Folks here like to wet their pants over him because he was HF's prospect of the year one season.
 
If Rundblad can just put it together enough to play 10+ minutes of ES with a steady stay at home partner his RH shot and skating could be excellent on the PP. Someone should try him on the wing otherwise.

They'd get more than that. A lot of people thought they might get Malcolm for AMac. Untested goalies don't have huge value. He's a valuable asset, for sure, but that's not some kind of shocker.

Why? Stepan on an off season has almost as many points as J. Staals best season. Carolina would have to add on that one. I wouldn't mind Roy though.

Rangers had interest but were informed today that Ryan Kesler will not waive no-trade to come to New York, Post has learned.
