No, of course not. Don't be silly. It's EMG vision hahaWhat does this even mean? Do you have MRI vision? First question is serious. So is the second.
Really does seem like the Rantanen Saga f***ed up the whole market. If it got resolved earlier, Rakell would have been the next option and teams would have had more time to figure stuff out
We need to stick to rebuilding. Take on other teams crap for good returns, it's what we are now.He likes Sid but I have no idea why he would come here and sign a presumably 8 year contract and then spend the back half of that with Sid retired and a garbage team behind him.
And even as much as he likes Sid I'm sure he's smart enough to realize there's no future of contention here.
If Marner comes here it's because he likes Dubas/Sid and because Dubas gives him an absolutely absurd contract. And I doubt even that would be enough.
Yea but that seems pretty imprudent to ask in a year where you are trying to win the Cup. I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it but you want your stars being 100% all-in.
I think these are fairly self explanatory.3 burning questions for kyle, DesertedPenguin pass it along. You're definitely a journalist.
1- why wasn't Dubas in on Zetterlund? The return doesn't seem to have high ceilings and a 2nd?
2- why is Acciari still here?
3- why is Grizz still here?
Agreed. I've said it elsewhere but it's too early to pivot towards trying to compete. We need to stick to rebuilding. Take on other teams crap for good returns, it's what we are now.

I could maybe see a draft floor deal for Rakell because it's being 'held' in Los Angeles and I could see them wanting to make a big trade announcement in their own arena.I just hope Dubas has the brains to dangle one of Rust or Rakell (or both!) to teams that miss out on signing big names in the first few days of FA. Don't think you're getting a draft floor deal for Rakell.
I think Grizz could've at least got a 3rd. Maybe Dubas felt that wasn't worth trading him for.I think these are fairly self explanatory.
Zetterlund may fit stylistically, but he is an RFA who will get a reasonable salary increase with his next contract. His contract status and age (25) make him kind of an awkward fit for the Pens' plan. Novak is older but cheaper than what Zetterlund will be, and his contract will expire faster. That gives the Pens greater flexibility.
No one wanted Acciari at his current cap cost and Dubas didn't want to retain.
And the market likely wasn't there for Grz. The Pens can now keep him, see what moves they make through the draft, and decide whether they want/need to bring him back next year if they need a LD.
I mean honestly I don't want to pivot towards contending this off season. You can rebuild if you do it correctly with Marner.
Look at us this year.
Maybe we are a playoff team next year after picking top 5 and then Malkin and EK depart and we are back to a fringe team who in the right situation goes bottom 5.

Otherwise, I think you're right; Rakell will go after free agency starts after teams get sticker shock from seeing all the new signings.
Another reason to think that Buffalo might be ripe for the picking this off season.Pens are icing an AHL tier left D and bottom six and goaltending and still can't out-tank the f***ing Sabres who were supposed to be done rebuilding 6 years ago.
