It’s a different approach

“but it’s the better approach because I WANT that”

Who cares if their core they mustered together with big moves ends up not being good or ever winning anything
But what Dorion says there is consistent with what Rayzor and Marty have said recently. An addition shows faith, sitting on hands does not. It can impact he psyche of the roster.

Continuing to evaluate the piece of shit that my dog just dropped on the floor to see if I should clean it. No company coming over tonight so wouldn’t want to waste cleaning supplies foolishly

If Kev doesn’t do anything else he’s telling his players they aren’t good enough for the playoffs. If that happens I expect a near total collapse down the stretch. Especially without Tuch and with a banged up Dahlin. We might end up drafting top 10.

Glass half full. Maybe not doing anyting is telling his squad y'all are growing by the week and good enough to get in.

We crossed 75 million in accrued cap space today. Another NHL record? Could be

You obviously can’t replace Tuch and Dahlin at the deadline, but you *could* find cheap short term options to fill in that can still help your team after. Players were traded for 2nd and 3rd round picks that could have been a great help

Again…multiple former players have been trying to tell you that this is not how the room takes things.

and that’s in years where the deadline isn’t this insane and filled with longer term help being moved.

Its a fantasy

Or, he's telling them that he believes that they are good enough to make the playoffs with what they have in the room today.

They are 4 points out with 5 games in hand.
We've been 0 to 4 points out with games in hand for the last month or so. We've just been treading water, going 5-5-0 in our last 10. Luckily everyone around us has done the same.

But now we're short Dahlin and Tuch and the schedule gets harder.

I mean if you all want to debate the psyche of the roster, then go for it. I’m not into that degree of speculation.

Imagine trading away Taylor Hall for a 2nd and Bjork and you see all these 1st round picks flying around.

I wonder if Adams asked for Bjork.

Dude, you literally have no evidence for this bullshit you keep hammering on. It’s way more plausible that he’s not doing anything because he’s too inexperienced and afraid to make a mistake.

Hanlon's razor is a saying that reads: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
I agree.

There's still time for Adams to salvage this, but if he comes out of this TDL with zero additions that help in the short-to-medium-term given there have been a few transactions that would have helped this squad beyond this year- then I'll be highly disappointed, point to his inexperience as a GM, and hope he does more in the offseason.

I'm not calling for his head yet, only his toe, but if he goes into next season with hardly any upgrades to the roster, then I'll call for a whole leg!

So we have the owner is cheap with an internal budget

The GM is a coward and is scared to make moves.

The GM “doesn’t care”

Former players are a mouthpiece for the locker room, which just so happens to match whatever you think.

The GM and the team media are in sync with each other to manipulate fans

Am I missing any other baseless conjecture you love to post as fact?

Cheap short term options do not help enough to overcome their absences.

Stillman was a cheap option. And nobody is expecting him to make a huge difference with Dahlin out tonight.

You’re just willing to speculate about how adding a bunch of talented players *might* not work so we shouldn’t try. Got it.

Saying something may or may not work is not speculation. Pretending you are in the lockerroom and saying how the trade deadline is going to impact their headspace is blatant speculation.

If you can’t see the difference, then don’t see it

You understand that Adams being stupid is worse than Pegula being cheap right?

Pegula might relax the death grip on the purse strings at some point in the future and spend like a drunken sailor like he used to.

You can't fix stupid.

You're actually being more pessimistic than ACE.

Hall had the hammer with the NMC. Just like PKane forcing the trade to the Rangers and him netting not a huge return for Chicago.

Context matters.

You don’t need them to stand in one-for-one. You need them to cover for the ahl players getting real minutes on D or play adequately as a top six threat

I'm not arguing about it - I'm just saying that Buffalo looks up in size to almost anyone. I don't believe in the large market bias beyond the networks and some free agents, which does exist. I am not sure I'm there to believe that the NHL intentionally fixes it against the small markets. If anything, the cap exists to protect them.
Which was my point, yeah. The other 3 leagues are way more inclined to favor huge markets.

Look, I can’t prove that these players feel similarly to those on other nhl teams in a similar standings position, or players who have been in that similar position in the past, but I think it’s pretty likely!
Three guys from three different eras of Sabres hockey all said the exact same thing. passionately.

If only that could compete with the years of organizational brainwashing that has led to people thinking adding good players is bad and drafting 30 players in three drafts that you can’t use or even sign all of is good.
