23 1st if they don’t make CF would be 26-28 range

Peterka>> Zett.
Zett was drafted as a high 3rd rounder and is at the end of his ELC. Not saying he isn’t decent but the comparison is off.

your offer you write is higher than ROR trade….

Compher= Peterka
PHL 2nd= BUF 2nd
zadarov= Sabres 24 1st
girgs= Krebs
then you had Johmson
I was trying to put together a similar value package to the one NJ just gave up for Meier.

I did say that I don't think it would have been a good idea for the Sabres.

Chychrun was on the trade block since last year's TDL and nobody has met his ask.

There is a line you eventually cross from being patient to being obstinant.

Oh, I totally agree with the bolded. And I'm sure that Chychrun's agent is applying stupid amounts of pressure to get Armstrong to budge.

But then Armstrong sees what Meier brought in......and then what Jeannot brought in.......Chychrun @ 50% surely would bring in 3 1st-round equivalents to the right team. Dubas/Toronto are desperate. 2024 1st, 2025 1st, Knies?
Been saying what Chad is this whole time.. Never felt teams were going to pay what the Yotes want plus Buffalo has the pieces and the cap room to be the best partner.

If Armstrong is REASONABLE, we can trump most any offer. But if it's not reasonable?

Yep. This idea that Chykrun's value has gone down the last week doesn't seem to add up in my head.

He is not a rental... and he will sign with NJ . Book it.

I think Armstrong and Adams have some things in common
I stand corrected, as he's an rfa. However, as likely as it is, I'll believe he is signing when he does. I'm that kind of guy.

If they want 2 players and 2 1st then no one is making that deal.

I'll also push back on the comparisons to Meier and Jeannot in that both deals where pretty insane and both those players don't have the injury history that Chychrun does which is why teams aren't biting on their asking price.. Its been over a year of him being in trade rumors and no one has made a reasonable (in armstrongs eyes) offer. He's gonna have to budge at some point and if not? No deal gets done and thats fine

His value hasn't gone down in the last week but it's always been inflated. It's obvious Armstrong is looking for a desperate GM like Tampa to get that unreasonable return. Could happen. But I would say unlikely. We probably go into the draft still talking about this. And Armstrong will look stupid for sitting him for 10 games

Armstrong looks stupid for this having gone on for a year. Everything else just stacks it higher and deeper.

Got to the Arizona part and Friedman seems to think they are going to make moves beyond just Chychrun. That could put Vejmelka or Schmaltz or others into play. What that means... don't know. But perhaps Crouse wet dreams are not for naught.
Ghost will be dealt for sure.

This is exactly what I think happens. Armstrong is going to wait until a guy like Dubas or McCrimmon or Holland gets desperate enough, and if they don't.........Chychrun's agent will rightfully pitch a fit and then he'll get dealt in the offseason.

I kinda expect Holland to go there because "the players" *cough*cough*McDrai*cough*cough* want a transition defenseman in Edmonton. I don't know if that helps them that much since I still think the biggest issues in Edmonton are how many of their forwards can't find their way around their own zone with a compass, a map, and a sherpa - some of them willingly ignorant of it.

And that includes McDavid.

If Toronto were willing to go there, you would think that the deal would have been done by now.

:dunno:

Oh, of course. Dubas isn't desperate enough yet. Still a week to go.

You'd think Armstrong would get the clue that he's asking too much, but I think he's being stubborn here. Probably to a fault, but it just takes one moment of weakness/panic in one other GM..........

Also of note on the Chychrun front, on the first day of the 2023-24 league year, Chychryn's M-NTC kicks in: Player submits a 10 team no trade list.

Surprisingly, I think we wouldn't be on that list. That's an area where the Pegula/Chychrun relationship helps.

And I think given this season, we're going to be taken off of a bunch of no trade lists.

I do have a little hope that Adams is playing chicken with Armstrong.

And if Adams has proven anything, it is that he is patient and willing to wait to get the deal he wants.
