Why not target Bunting after he’s traded?

He can score goals and is gritty. A hot head tho

Toffoli:
-Devils are listening, but have certain price point
-Won't trade just because he's a UFA
-Teams that were in on Guentzel, will shift to Toffoli

Basically things we know already. There's a bit in the video about Markstrom, little bit about Guentzel but we've moved on.

That seems like a good price given the extra year at a reasonable salary. If they can get a first back for Lindholm I’d happily flip that plus the team’s 2025 1st to St. Louis.

Normally, I would agree, but I think they keep the money open to take a run at Guentzel/Tanev in the offseason.

Curious as to your opinion: Would you rather make that move for Buchnevich, or trade the 2025 1st with Mikheyev and get a depth F/D?

All in all, Guentzel to Carolina might’ve been the best case scenario. I just don’t see them as a serious threat and it’s not a team I hate getting him

Yeah, I understand.

There were many TDLs like this during the Sedin years.

And, as multiple people have pointed out, the Canucks were being proactive throughout the season with Zadorov, etc.
Ok sedins long gone, and we still need adds rn to keep up.

I love phil the thrill as much as anyone but that's clearly not enough this year and surely mgmt knows that.

The near absolute silence from van indicates they're cooking up something.

On top of the league this year and rivals loading up....
I really do not think we should have done anything....certainly not give up 5 players for Lindholm who is a rental to boot! We were leading the league and were just fine....and now look at what we have done since the trade! Please, Jim, as difficult as this might be, we are better off not selling even more assets.

Chris Johnston said it's safe to say Lindholm stays in VAN unless there is another curveball but says VAN is still in on Zucker

Allvin better be checking in on the asking price for Martin Rucinsky and Geoff Sanderson.

Twenty f***ing years. Jesus christ.

I’m still praying Buchnevich becomes a Canuck. He’s been the guy I’ve wanted all along. Size, speed, skill, physicality, two way, under $6M for another year, 28 years old.

That's who I want too. Will never complain about anything Canucks-related ever again for like a week if we get him.

I’d take Buchnevich. It’s about the same amount of cap savings for next year relative to something like a Guentzel signing without the risk of coming up empty. Then in the offseason look to move Mikheyev, likely in a contract swap.

Even if they take Mikheyev, I think we’d have to run a 22 man roster the rest of the season to make that work.

And then you’re trying to figure out what two firsts is equivalent to.

Still sad we didn’t get Tanev. The rest of this, I don’t really care. I was always in the camp of buying low on whatever forward was left. Lindholm was supposed to be our Guentzel piece. Just because it hasn’t worked isn’t really something management should be faulted over. Seemed very unlikely Guentzel would even be available a month ago, and we probably would have lost the bidding now anyways even without the Lindholm trade happening.

He’d be someone I’d be comfortable giving up our 1st next year and Pod for, especially if the Blues retain salary on him since he’s not a strict rental. I’d be pumped with him and Toffoli and then getting Joshua back shortly after and signing Kessel.

Pay the price if the take mik. 1st, 2nd, pod, raty, Klim...
The massive upgrade and cost certainty is hella worth, losing nexts years first is balanced by having buch two playoffs atleast.

So far the TDL has been perfect. We haven't bled too many assets for rentals.

I still think we overpaid for Lindholm, and it sounds like he's going to end up being a rental.

We are playing well (we were playing great up until the trade) we have a great core mostly sewed up and tonight will be a good test. Nice to win it, but once again, it's against a tough team, and it's just one game.

I think if everyone is healthy, our lineup is just fine.

And we are not going to be able to sign all of our UFA's and RFA's as it is. Why do people want to give up our 2025. 1st for a $6M that we can't afford. I am sick of needing LTIR to meet the cap. Teams that have cap space have been fleecing people for years.

But with the blues still in the race for a WC it would be expensive ask from their side as they have no pressure point to trade him.
