Forsling should be prioritized over Montour, I would think most agree. Based on age, underlying numbers, etc. I would feel a lot better about giving Forsling 6-8 years. Montour is a bit more of a risk. His season last year was absolutely ridiculous and he was probably our best DMan, but need to focus on the future and it's likely that will be the best season of his career. Forsling is the safer option.

He would cost us extra assets to acquire since he still has another year on his deal at a decent cost + is having a career year. And then we would either have to trade him in the summer or someone else because of the money.

Anyone who trades for Vatrano then throws him on line 3 and PP2 is gonna be disappointed. He is having a career year with tons of playing time and PP time. He moves the needle about as much as Duke, IMO (hardly)
