I'd seriously consider sending the Isles a bag of potato chips for Brock Nelson.
Oh he’s a difference maker in big games but cap friendly says he’s still got a $6M hit until UFA in 2025. A year early.

 nice pull.

He may not be but it's closer than you think, he just hasn't been utilized properly in Columbus IMO. Boqvist's analytics are better than Jones'.

Jones is overpaid dogshit these days. Thank f*** DT had the sense to draft Barkov over him.
Love your comment right after that one.

"PLEASE GET SAM REINHART. Kid is criminally underrated in this league and would score 35 on Barkov's wing." Wrong again, dummy.

I would really like Eberle but he may be too expensive. Proven playoff performer too, the guy shows up in big games. Wennberg could be a more affordable option.

If I'm the Canes I sell the farm for Saros. 2 playoffs of him would be a huge upgrade. We'll see if it gets done. Obviously Nashville is in a playoff spot but they're rebuilding, they'd get a huge haul to move him.

Askarov is their future, might as well move on from Saros while his value is still high.

I kinda like Morgan Frost as a pickup. I think his time in Philly is done and he would blossom on our roster IMO.

Also, The Score listed Duclair as a "dream acquisition" for the Panthers at the deadline........he was literally a salary dump last off-season. Why would they bring him back for a playoff run when we know what kind of player he is? How do some of these writers have jobs?

I mean. I get the dislike for playoff Duclair. But we did make it to the final with him on the "top line" with Verhaeghe and Barkov through all 4 rounds. He was actually fine for the most part.

But if the asset cost is low (3rd or 4th round) and he replaces Cousins....I dont see that as a bad thing. It's not the worst idea out there and I'd take it over Guentzel

Rodrigues Barkov Duclair
Verhaeghe Bennett Tkachuk
Luostar Lundell Reinhart
Lomberg Tommy Gadjo

I'd take that over what we roll out now to be honest with you.

If it doesnt work, then slide Cousins in and have him save the day lol

If we were still running the Quenneville systems, we wouldn't have moved Duclair and he'd probably score 30 goals for this team. But we're running the Paul Maurice systems now, and I think Duclair was a poor fit for them. It's to his credit that he put in a decent playoff showing, but now you have to weigh giving up assets to get him back for a playoff run...

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back, but I'm just not sure it's a smart move.

Roslovic, Barabanov, maybe Wennberg? Do we want to revisit that? Could be decent enough on the third line? maybe not he's a C too

I dont think Mantha is known to be a playoff performer but he does have size and is aggressive enough so maybe him?

I dont know, I dont think I like rentals anymore lol. Theres a reason blockbuster died.

Unless an injury occurs I wouldn’t add a defensemen at the deadline. I think we roll with our current top-6 with Mahura as the extra. Hanifin isn’t bad but he doesn’t fill a need and he’s not worth the price as a rental.

if they’re gonna do anything it should be to add a winger to our top-9. Idk who would be a good fit though.
