Anyone who trades for Vatrano then throws him on line 3 and PP2 is gonna be disappointed. He is having a career year with tons of playing time and PP time. He moves the needle about as much as Duke, IMO (hardly)

Same issue he had here the first time. Not a true top or bottom sixer.

I don't hate the guy or whatever, but I recall there being other issues with the team and Smith, something about management or ownership not liking him. Was a long time now, so maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure there was something about that.

He was a Tallon guy, and Tallon got demoted, rehired, and then he got sold off to Vegas.

If Zito decides to bring in some depth guys i think Aube-Kubel could be an interesting name. Could fit our forechecking system very well and would probably cost like a 5th rounder.

f*** Reilly Smith. Keep him as far away from this franchise as possible. He doesn't deserve to be cheered on by our fans. That is an absolute no from me.

If we can get Montreal to eat half or 2/3s of Josh Anderson's salary I think he could revive his career in Florida like many others before him. I doubt it would work as a trade but I do still see potential in him. At $5.5 million though it's a non-starter so MTL would HAVE to eat some of that contract for the trade to work.

I imagine he'd be available pretty cheap too.

There's no point in making a trade if the dude who Zito trades for doesn't make it to the starting lineup. Cousins and Lorentz have been disappointing but I don't think Zito is very eager to tinker with the starting lineup.
