Outside of a 2 month period when he got signed Sabourin has been garbage and regressing almost constantly. Sutter should fit in nicely on an AHL team that should be looking at making another deep playoff run.

Someone in the comment section said he was an alternate captain?

This is exactly it. Sabourin was not going anywhere in this organization, he was not going to be resigned. Guy has played 7 games for the Reign since Christmas.

how is our bottom six today any worse than the cup-winning iterations? it's still largely the exact same guys, with some shuffling at center. I don't see how something like King/Lecavalier/Versteeg and Clifford/Shore/Lewis or Nolan is such a weak point compared to the past. Or have we already forgotten how much of a buzzkill Stoll/Richards were in the last couple years? Not to mention Gaborik is likely to be slotted in the bottom 6 if he's back for the playoffs anyways. Just saying, our bottom 6 could look a helluva lot worse.

That was dumb. Sabourin has way more upside than Sutter.

Sutter is like a Colin Fraser. The Kings already have Kris Newbury and Ryan Horvat, both similar.

Sabourin was the potential Kings 4th line Jordan Nolan type player.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Going back to the summer the Kings have added Lucic, Enroth, Lecavalier, Schenn, Scuderi and Versteeg.

Dean just got a head start early in putting together his roster. Not sure how they'll perform in the post season but that's a good amount of new faces to introduce to the roster (barring an old familiar face in Scuderi).

This, dean just did most of his shopping in August instead of late December when prices are inflated. Christmas shopping analogy.

I don't see how the bottom six is so awful. With everyone healthy, we have a bottom six of:

Brown-Lecavalier-Versteeg
King-Lewis-Nolan/Clifford/Mersch/whoever

That's a pretty decent bottom six, if you ask me.

Wow Ducks moved Maroon to the Oilers. I hope these changes disrupts their chemistry.

Good move, more offensive upside.

Believe Pat Maroon may be on the move from Anaheim to Edmonton for a prospect and a mid-round pick.

Chiarelli says the Oilers have a trade...lined up in central registry. The Flames also expected to have something. Sounds like a long line.

and as much as everyone rags on Brown around here, I actually really liked him on the bottom six. Seems to bring a lot of stability, kind of like Lewis does on whatever line he's on. Now if only they could both start scoring...

I don't expect Gaborik back this season because the Kings brass are to quiet about it. And Brown, Lewis and Clifford and King can't score for ****. Lewis on the 4th line would be ideal because of his defensive capabilities. If King goes to the 4th line as well that would be miracle.

If Gaborik comes back and our lineup look like this :

Lucic-Kopitar-Gaborik
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Brown-Lecavalier-Versteeg
King-Shore-Lewis

Only then will my eyes pop out of my head because that's a deep team. If Pearson continues his scoring of late and Gaborik is healthy.

Don Maloney said he received numerous calls about C Martin Hanzal. Hanzal's value at a critical position prevented talks from going further.

Hamhuis said he opened door on Wednesday for Chicago, Thursday for Dallas. Went from there. "We were just kind of waiting and seeing"

He also said he intends to stay in VAncouver long term. Very expensive rental...
