Not sure if Beaulieu is being shopped, they need someone to replace Markov pretty soon. I'm a big believer of Beaulieu, would've love to see him in a Kings jersey.

What I would like to see is a coach that doesn't make the lineup card on an Etch-A-Sketch. Maybe get some consistency on a nightly thing.

Come playoff time Sutter typically goes with set lines hasn't he?

I see all the line shuffling in recent weeks as an attempt not to tip our hands to the scouts of our playoff opponents. I think Sutter knows exactly what he's going to do come playoff time and doesn't see the benefit of showing that to the league in February.

Well, this sure is boring.

It usually is until about 2:30 pm.

Always makes me laugh when people say they take work off for the day or skip classes to tune in and tap their foot like Sonic The Hedgehog in anticipation of hearing about Sven Butenschon being dealt for a 6th round pick in 2022.

Devils claim Warsofsky off waivers. Oilers claim Cracknell, Pardy. Habs claim Brown. Everyone else clears.

Yay, Brown claimed by Habs! Sure it's not Dustin. Would be awesome, if was. What / who is Pardy? The Oil knows how to Pardy.

You've got to fight for your right to Pardy.

Pardy is probably most known for getting hit through the glass and having a fan dump beer on his head.

He used to play for Calgary and he looked pretty serviceable as a 5/6. He has good size and is reliable in his own end. Not sure how he has looked since going to the jets.

I've long disliked Brown, and after his absurd 40 game PPG run in 2012, said that was the pinnacle of his career by a country mile. At this point, trading him for futures would be a massive boon for the team, if only to clear that cap space.

Dean was toe to toe with Bowman in the way each managed their championship teams until the summer of 2014. That was when it all changed. Since 2014, Dean has been hit with one scandal after the next, and he's fumbled the ball. That's not all entirely his fault. He couldn't have predicted Richards fall from grace. He couldn't have predicted Voynov turning into a POS seemingly overnight. But at the same time, he hasn't patched those holes, and we've bled assets ever since. Now we're stuck with a cap strapped lineup, virtually zero tradable assets, and several albatross contracts (including a vastly overpaid captain who produces like a bottom sixer). Dean has wound up with a team that, years ago, he always wanted to avoid, and that's sort of alarming.

With all that said, though, this team has still won two championships. And until someone handedly beats them in a seven game series, I'm remiss to say the window is closed. We're the only team to have beaten the vaunted Chicago Blackhawks in a seven game series since 2012, and the only team who can even remotely claim they're in the same tier. That's something to hang your hat on. Everyone else is a pretender until proven otherwise, most notably the Ducks.

We're going to make the playoffs this year, and we'll see where this team is really at. Dean, for all his mistakes, is capable of fixing things, I believe. If we go out in the first or second round, I have no doubt we'll see some major shifts over the offseason (Brown).

thinking Russell, Boedker, Hamhuis, Vrbata, and perhaps Yakupov, Bozak, Kadri, and possibly Drouin move today - none of those involving the Kings though.

Would (over)paying for Hazal be stupid move?
Like Forbort, Shore and 1st in '17 for Hanzal(25% retain). (Is that too much?too little?)

Lines for now
Lucic-Kopi-Toffoli
Pearson-Carter-Steeg
Vinny-Hanzal-Brown
King-Lewis-Clifford
Andy, Nolan

Easily do it.

I think to remain competitive he will need to be moved out. That said I do not think it makes way more sense in the off season and will cost LA a fair bit

I would do that in a second. Unfortunately, Arizona won't.

I would without doubt, Hanzal is one of my favorites, and would be like best 3rd C in a league by far.
And he wouldn't be just rental, he solves #3 spot for nexz year.
Just can't figure fair price, hell I would throw even this year 2nd and mybe more, Kempe is only one I would hold out.

I wouldn't do that. Even with 5% retained that's $2.3M in cap next year. Hanzal is worth that but LA does not have the space. Forbort and Shore sure, but I think that 1st could be used to help the backend long term not our #3C.

Arizona is at their 50 contract max so LA would have to take back one more Contract in any deal.
