Are you kidding?? Russell would be a solid addition. Great shot blocker, good defensively, can skate and plays much bigger for his size.

Russell is BRUTAL defensively. He blocks alot of shots since he cant break the puck out, runs around d zone without puck. He is a really bad hockey player. Cant move puck, loses battles. Hed be about #9 or #10 in terms of talent on the kings d corps.

Kempe has lots of center experience and could play center. I could see it being like carter how early in his career coaches didnt want to play there but eventually realize he is more valuable in the middle.

Kempe has played almost exclusively as a winger the last couple of years. Stothers tried him at center for one game and moved him back to wing. I don't think the Kings will be viewing him as a center.

Kempe looked very comfortable flying down the wings at the WJC, looked particularly good when he was on his offwing.

He is an RFA. so LA could qualify him and then match any offer sheets if he signs for low elsewhere or not match and let teams poney up high picks.

Yeah the big problem is re-signing him. Even if he signs for less than his demands and signs for $5 million, how do you fit that? Lucic for sure would be gone therefore opening up a giant hole in the top 6 with no Pearson or Kempe to fill it. Your top 6 would be Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown and King-Carter-Toffoli. Third line would be even worse with Mersch-Shore-Lewis.

My guess would be it starts at Muzzin/Martinez, plus something else. Muzzin, a little less something. Martinez, a little more something. Just from a Kings cap standpoint, let alone the Jets not wanting to open up a hole on defense.

I don't see McNabb getting traded for Trouba/Myers or anyone else because of his low cap hit. But how about Martinez & Pearson for Myers and Lowry. I feel Myers is an upgrade to Martinez and Lowry can be our big 3rd line for next year after Vinny is gone.

I would love that deal but Lowry is viewed very highly by the Jets I believe.
