He loves the city.. maybe pulls a Winnik and agrees to get dealt again next deadline to a contender
He can live in the city every summer and when he retires. If he’s still got game he’s worth more to a contender than a rebuilding Bruins squad.

I'm not surprised. They have to win now or they are fired anyway. We moved some guys down a slot and got depth while unloading some not good enough players. Minten is a 3rd line C and the Leafs knew it. They aren't hard to find. We put Tavares over a barrel.

The Carlo trade excites me as I wanted him for years, reading the main board makes me sort of nervous but really not a fan of the fact that we traded our next two available 1st leaving us with non until 2028 and we are still arguably not favourites
So did all the other contenders.

No first round pick in the next 3 years, Matthews is playing like a 8M center instead of highest paid player in the league, Marner and Tavares might be gone next year, and we lost our cost controlled 2/3 center prospect. Oh! And we are still probably underdogs in a series against Florida or Tampa......

Well..... we can't say we didn't go for it!

Looking for a big offseason with the $20M+ in cap space available to them.

No idea how hard is it to confirm that the trade to Pittsburgh is:

To PIT:
Dewar
Timmins
Kyle’s favourite urinal from Scotia Bank

To TOR:
Rakell @75% retained

????

Im pretty convinced there's another piece not yet mentioned, but I could be wrong and they're just detailing the retention pieces.

We are not underdogs

I'd probably take Seth, but Carlo is still $3M cheaper even with retention. So that helps.

More precisely, It is Carlo in his prime (28, 29, 30) $3.4M vs aging Seth (31 to 35) at $7M.

I was hoping we'd get Seth, but given their contracts and ages I'll take Carlo.

Nashville is a scary example.

But it'll all be worth it if McJesus comes home!!!! I'm hoping Marner signs, Bennett signs, we trade Matthews and sign McJesus.

It's gonna be
Holmberg - Laughton - Domi

Holmberg and Laughton should hopefully be able to cover Domi's lack of defense

I wish they unloaded either Kampf, Jarnkrok, or both but I actually think they would make a really solid line with Holmberg for the rest of the season. Overpaid for this season but that's a 4th line with finally some identity. Good defensively. Jarnkrok can slide up and down for injuries and Lorentz can rotate in as needed.
