I can see the Giroux trade...give him a chance to be on a winning team this year.

I just don't see giving up 7 picks (2-2nds, 3-3rd, 4th, 11th) for Peer and Mancini.
They committed to selling once they moved Hayes and Kressler. If they were gonna buy it would have made sense to acquire guys who are gonna be there after this season.

Absolutely love the Missy trade of Veccia! Such a smart move. Missy is not making a run this year so they take a player that they would likely keep as an OA but not necessarily one that moves the needle for them, trade him at a high value 19 eyar old. Then they will flip those picks next year for a bette rOA than Veccia! Brilliant.

That deal sets the minimum price for Melee imo

Of course not but there has always been that underlying pressure to ensure the marquis players for the league aren’t wasting away on bottomfeeders.

Sell everyone except for the highest value player to gain a development fee? Maybe if the franchise values ticket sales and needs the development fee to keep the lights on. But, if they are one of those franchises, they aren’t hosting a Memorial Cup and surly aren’t’ participating in the heavy buy/heavy sell program. Those teams need consistent revenue.

I don;’t understand that one in the slightest. Is that the best value OA acquisition this year?

Great deal for Oshawa, though Stewart was well liked with the locker room and fan base and will be missed.

Oshawa adding Lockhart and Punnett sets them up to do damage these playoffs in an open conference.

That being said, unless they add 1 or 2 more pieces, they are likely a 2nd round team right now

I'm going to write something that won't make sense to many of you.

The trade 'game ' hasn't been reigned in by restrictions on years ahead picks van be traded .

These crazy deals have only devalued picks .

Today I haven't seen any players moved that are any better than what the Attack has .

Degray will not get into those deals.

He either makes his moves before the season , or is fairly conservative.
I expect if HD foes anything more, it'll be at 11am tomorrow when some GM is itchy to make one more deal, and it'll be swapping a couple guys looking fir a change if scenery.

Take a look around the league, who is NOT on the crazy train this week ?

Owen Sound -Degray
Guelph - Burnett
Erie- Brown/Butler
London - Hunters .
All senior league execs.

Degray learned from Butler and Kilrea . Still does . Best buddies

Only problem is Erie should be cashing in on these crazy trades. They're not a title contender. Misiak is a 19 yo import who won't be back next season. They have 5 19 yo north American players, can only bring back 3 next year. Brown needs to make some moves.
