Long time viewer, first time caller. The Updates troll is the biggest homer in the league. I worked at the GMC/TCC for years and am actually a long time Gens fan but his view on things is absolute garbage. I'm too old to understand what a flex means. Your views however are usually more even keel.

I’ve never understood why so many fans are terrified to criticize their favourite team.

Let’s be honest - - all teams in all leagues in all sports made dumb decisions and terrible plays from time to time. Some more than others.

Attempting to justify and defend those inept moves causes you to lose all credibility.

Yes, hometown fans are more familiar than anyone else with their hometown team. But if you can’t make objective assessments and only want to wave your pom poms, that “hometown knowledge” is useless.

Only problem is Erie should be cashing in on these crazy trades. They're not a title contender. Misiak is a 19 yo import who won't be back next season. They have 5 19 yo north American players, can only bring back 3 next year. Brown needs to make some moves.
Brown is going to blame the power outages for lack of trades. He needs to do something!

Does anyone have an accurate count of how many picks each team has? I know there was one out there, but I’m not sure it’s updated.

When I click the link I get the 2022 database. I have to go to gensupdates on Twitter to get the updated database. Weird.

Rough day for from sources after a good start, but I have at least some clarification on a few things:

Xhekaj to Wolves
-was close with Protz involved, and then Van Vliet became the focus instead and it came together quickly. It was close under similar framework for Xhekaj. Sudbury had been looking to aim higher on D too.

Topp to Petes
-Strochack just came together first. Petes still have one player card left, and the priority appears to be an '06 D, so Topp isn't completely out the question to get done still. He was a target in a Melee deal before Guelph opted for Veccia. Bedkowski has also been brought up.

Mayich to Rangers
-don't really know what to say. I agree with the others saying that never made sense from Ottawa's POV. Id imagine the Sale cost dipped into that too. I have my doubts about this happening at all, but had literally heard 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th originally.

As sellers, Barrie and PTB are crushing it at the deadline. As buyers the Soo have got the best value in trades imo. Time will tell though

Bedkowski would be much better than Topp for the Petes. I heard Oshawa was getting Sandu from Guelph maybe that makes Bedkowski available?

Have you seen the Bulldogs picks on the data base? 20 second and thirds from 2025-2028 draft. They did pretty well I'd say as well. Next year they will make a push and will be able to buy a ton. They will need too because Missy will be the team to beat.

Does Sudbury still target a D or F tomorrow. They still have 2nds and 3rds available to trade

Sorry I should have included the Bulldogs 100%

Oshawa has been using only five defencemen for pretty much the entire season. Rodriguez and McDonnell only get a few shifts when they play.

So the Genersls could definitely add another without having to deal Bedkowski.

Out of curiosity, can an import be traded who hasn’t reported yet? Who a team holds the rights to?

In other words, can Kitchener trade the rights to ‘23 import draft pick Tomas Pobezal?
