They would be better to give him a front-loaded longer term deal to cram down the AAV and the make the actual dollars small in the later years. These deals will be easy to move in the future to teams that are just trying to reach the cap floor.

I'm fine with the team going for another goalie but Stolarz needs to be the one dropped, not Hildeby. Trade him (Stolarz) for pennies, waive him, demote him, whatever.

If they're trading Hildeby it needs to be part of a package bringing in a significant player OR a better goalie. Include him in a Helly trade and I'm all for it.

Having great players in the bottom 6 is a good thing. Having great players in the bottom 6 while missing the playoffs is poor roster construction.

That would indicate poor coaching.

The solution to a situation you highlight, is changing the coach.

Ya exactly. For once we have a good amount of cap. Especially if Reilly is moved. Drastically improving our defence and goaltending without giving up assets is HUGE.

First, why the Leafs would plaster this everywhere in an empty arena at ~11am is beyond me, then there are signs that there's some shoddy editing with the background TVs. I'm not an editor or graphic designer though.
