I mean I think the writing was on the wall when this banger dropped!

I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa loaded up and they took their blood feud to the next level. Hagel is going to need someone to go hunt Tkachuk's with out there.
I don't think either of those teams are going to be much of a threat next season. Overall, I will be very surprised if Montreal doesn't walk away with the division.

Not going to lie this makes me think the Leafs should rebuild. We couldn’t get past Florida with one Tkachcuk how will they get through two!?

Well, not that I expect us to get past Florida but Brady is a spastic loser who can’t control his emotions, has a stone hands and is going to be on IR a fair share. And he sucks in the playoffs.

That's loser/quitter talk. I hope our management/coaches/players don't have that mentality. It should be seen as a challenge for everyone in the East, notably the Atlantic.

I think they will still physically harm each other. I think Florida will be back in the mix but I see a year from hell for Tampa.

Sens aren't falling apart. They just traded away a toxic dude who was going to walk for 3 first rounders n a 2nd....
While he's toxic hes still a very good player. They haven't gotten a player in return.

He was also their captain and their go to guy. Considering how things are playing out because he wants to leave.

I'm not afraid of the Panthers.

I don't think it really has anything to do w/being afraid of them.
I think the Leafs should just read the room and be like you. it's not happening and I still maintain that we go, "thanks for the memories auston, but please give us a few teams. outside of the common 3 ones every american seems to list right now, and we can move on."

(yes. this goes for Will too, even though he's super passionate about being here)

let's start restructuring a new foundation and atmosphere and then release the hounds as it were. if freaking Brady Tkachuk can get a 3 1sts (including a top ten in this draft), I'm fairly certain even with the question marks about his health, Matthews can get something similarly sexy (as well as a roster player)

One player who can still contribute while bringing a physical force and shouldn't cost a ton would be Evander Kane.

Kane-Tavares-Cowan as your third line

And I feel guilty saying it but I just think the window to win will be easier in 2030 compared with the next 2-3 years. We are just going to burn years of Matthews and Knies’ prime on a team that won’t win against Florida when we could start targeting corner stone pieces to play with McKenna. I hate to say that but I just don’t see them beating Florida or Montreal. Even Buffalo looks really good. I still hope they try to add but if there’s some opportunities to get younger players for a Nylander or maybe Malhotra (4oa) for Knies I think that looks more interesting now then it did 24 hours ago.

The stanley cup is not won on June 21st of the off-season. It'll be ok.
We make a couple of good moves and hires and now the fans are thinking we are winning something next year.

Posters today saying go get Kadri??? Huh.

If I’m Chyka - Im resetting the table 2 years out. Our over rating of our players is insane at times and not rooted in facts.

They didn't just sign a 30 year old to an 8 year contract to restructure.

No idea how things will go, but a lot of things can happen between now and the start of the season. Just so funny to me to see people already give up just because the Panthers got a good player. Should everyone else give up too, or just us?

That's why we watch the games. Panthers finished well out of the playoffs this past year, they aren't young and certainly won't be perfect. One or two injuries and their depth will be tested yet again.

having a good basis for your team is never not a bad thing. again. wasting two years trying to get to the 1st round, vs. "wasting" two years making sure to get pieces so you can get to rounds 2, 3 and 4 [and win] should be the goal. end of story.
