I have absolutely no idea. Trade proposals aren't my thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion we are not going to see the Leafs start the season with Stolarz and Hildeby. That tandem doesn't scream "win now" to me. I think we might see significant goalie acquisition.Interesting…for?
I completely agree, which is why I am questioning whether the moves are a Chyka “win now” direction.I have absolutely no idea. I can see trading Knies for a young NHL defenseman, but I don't see him trading him for a top 10 pick and prospect package. This team has a 4-5 year window to win a Cup with Matthews and Nylander (and likely McDavid in a couple of years). I don't think Chayka or Rogers will want draft picks as the central piece in a trade for Knies. They need an immediate impact defenseman so that Raddysh becomes support rather than the central focus on defense.I completely agree, which is why I am questioning whether the moves are a Chyka “win now” direction.
This why I still believe Knies goes.
I think he’s building for a year or two out with an eye to get Matthews to resign and make us a destination for some strong FA classes coming soon.
I would have to agree. One goalie to keep an eye out for is Filip Gustavsson. You're probably looking at Stolarz + Colorado 1st Round Pick + RobertsonI have absolutely no idea. I'll play I'll play!!!!Most shocking move Chayka could do that you think is actually possible?

I think that is where we as fans need to look harder at.I can see trading Knies for a young NHL defenseman, but I don't see him trading him for a top 10 pick and prospect package. It appears that he's trying to make the team younger while not compromising on NHL experience (Woll to Hildeby; Benoit to Andrae; subtracting any of the holdovers on the blueline for Raddysh won't really make that area of the team any older since Raddysh and Carlo share a birth year). I'm hoping one eye is on the present with the other on the future (not aimlessly dealing away any and all futures of worth to go all-in now).I think that is where we as fans need to look harder at.
Does Chyka strike you as a guy who legit is trying to do 1 year retool?
Or
A guy who believes in building the right way, with cap disciple and built from the back out. Most analytics would support a futures heavy deal for Knies.
i'm gonna play your game Trick. Everyone I pick i have available in my mind for even the most random reason.Either/or.![]()
