With Raddysh on the books we still have a tonne of cap space to add with (about 19M before moving anyone or signing our RFAs). If we can dump Rielly that's another 7.5M.

At this point trading Knies for a 2nd line center like Robert Thomas might make some sense. Thomas is still only 26, signed for the same term length, for slightly more money, but he's a right shot center who can take tough matchups and push Tavares to either the 3rd line or wing.

We could then sign a winger like Tuch, Marchment, or McMann.

With all due respect I dont believe gossip like that.

Exactly, and how is living in California giving this guy an inside scoop on Vancouver based players?

I live in BC, so closer proximity than Cali, and I can confirm no such rumours exist. Local word was JT was the cancer and blessed to see him go.

And since BC is closer than California, I should have some more cred than the friend from Cali… lol

I'd expect they'll try bring in one more top 4 level guy, probably via trade at this point. Not sure who though
See a lot of people saying this but as it stands they have 7 NHL Dmen:
McCabe
Tanev
Raddysh
OEL
Carlo
Rielly
Andrae

We know Rielly is gone, but someone else would have to go to make room for whoever that new player is.

Haven't heard anyone reporting Carlo is on the trade block

We didn't hear about Woll either but process of elimination and with asset management in mind, seems likely something has to give there to me. Maybe he sticks around though if things don't materialize.

Pagnotta is very hit or miss, but he did say earlier today his name is out there.

I wonder if we're holding back some trades until the Marlies finish, last thing you would want to do is trade a prospect off the team during the Calder cup
Or he is simply doing things in an order as part of a plan. Sort out goaltending first. Then sort out the defence next. Forwards were always going to be mainly UFA's and with the 2nd line center market at a stand still until Larkin moves probably a good plan to get everything else out of the way.

If your making trades for a top 4D your probably going to need a prospect to throw into the deal and some guys with value are still playing down there

Tanev had some serious injury issues I'm not convinced he can do it.

He the great haired Raddysh.

If we are trading Rielly, which it’s sounding increasingly likely we need to bring in a Dman with some speed. Maybe 2 guys.
Our D last year was SLOW and neither of the guys we have brought in are great skaters.

Lets get rid of him first. I'll worry about his replacement after

The reporter said to Chayka... your goalie position is set and your working your D, what next

And Chayka basically said no, I wouldn't assume we are set anywhere.

So maybe hes shopping for goaltending help too. Though, with what is out there I'm unsure who he could be after.

I've wondered if he views Stolarz durability concerns as problematic and opts for a more durable veteran goalie for 1-2 years.

If Trouba, Carlson & Gudas leave the Ducks then it might be time Chayka introduce Rielly, Carlo and McCabe to Verbeek.
