  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
Might be more to come based off his media availability stemming from the Raddysh addition

I find it hilarious that teams are using Dreger to complain about being confused or frustrated over whether Chayka is actually willing to trade Knies.

This is exactly the kind of GM I’ve always wanted, no nonsense, hard to read, and not someone who gets walked over. Keep sulking, GMs! 😂

Thoughts on Pettersson for 2C? Worth the gamble? Hope Sundin has more insight into his precipitous decline
Ive always liked Petey, I'd make the bet on him bouncing back. Even his last two years where everyone thinks hes washed it hasn't been even close to a disaster, its just expectations and contract didn't line up with his play and production.

The last two seasons he had the highest DZF rate of his career, his SH% dropped from like a career 16% to 14 and 11 respectively. His oiSH% dipped crazy low the last two years too. Theres a lot that lines up with how the Canucks being awful the last two years has made Petey go from one of the best two-way players in the league to a solid 2C with awful defensive metrics. I believe he's still closer to the former on a good team, but if the guys mentally broken who knows.

Imagine that we’ve got a Marlies team on the cusp of winning the Calder Cup and we aren’t going to pencil anyone of them into challenge for our bottom 6 next year?

Would love to see Quillan, Tverberg, Groulx, and Haymes to get a legitimate chance to win a spot in camp and run with it.

Pagnotta on Leafs Morning Take seems pretty convinced they will trade Rielly and Carlo at some point.

He also brought up Kane and Jenner as options upfront, but he said he's not sure what they'll do there.

Ferraro is looking for over 5M and will test the market.
Which Kane? Patrick or Evander

You have to give some of them a serious look, enough to be able to really show what they’re capable of at the NHL level.

EP has knee and wrist issues that explains his SH% drop and his defensive numbers tanking. He just doesn't skate like he use to. Also there is rumblings he already is souring the relationship with the Sedin twins. Sundin will not go near him if he has issues with the Twins. They are very close.

I want 4th Line crashers with a mix of speed, physciality and some scoring touch. Dakota Joshua is perfect 4th line player to have. I would hold on to him. Please get rid of Lorentz. He's super vanilla

Dakota Joshua - XXXX - XXXX (Landon sim maybe?)

We need a 4th line options.

AJ Greer
Brandon Duhaime
Colton Sissons
Beck Malenstyn

All guys i would look into

Malenstyn and Greer on the wings with a speedy/gritty centre (Quillan/Haymes to start) would be very intereting.

If they are doing that, hopefully they find a way to move Joshua as well.

Sim is likely another 1-2 years away but I think he definitely plays his way into the NHL at some point.

Agreed. I wouldn’t move Joshua just to dump him. He had a decent season last year all things considered. I’d expect him to improve as well

I havent heard anything about him souring the relationship with the Sedins. Ive heard that ownership wants to dump contracts.

Dakota Joshua has nice hands for a big man and can offer secondary depth scoring. You still need size. I see no issues holding on to him.

I mean 10M isnt obscenely crazy in the new age for a top-4 defenseman. Would be 8.81% of the cap. For reference, when Rielly signed his deal it was for 9.01%.

The question is just whether you think he can take the next step and be good defensively, which he hasn't shown he can do yet.

I'm a fan, I love the player...I don't think he's nearly as bad as the metrics show but I can't get to 10M

I was thinking the Raddysh deal for him is fair but okay add an extra 500k over 8 years to get him to pass up UFA...but...apparently not enough.

I'd still like to see them unload Rielly and maximize a return on Carlo by retaining. I think Carlo still has decent value and a cap team would likely pay extra for him on the cheap. As for Rielly, I share the same sentiment as many others here... Love the player, appreciate his time here, but it's time to move on. If they move both who do they get to round out the defence?

I'd love to see them make a play for EP. Sounds like he could be had for cheap and could bounce back huge.

Regarding the 4th line I think we only need a 4 c like stenlund. Between Joshua, Lorentz, and multiple earliest we can ice a very solid 4th line. Just need a veteran center in the middle.

I agree he does a decent job but if I had the choice of 2 of Joshua, Malentyn, and Greer, I'd go with Malenstyn and Greer.

Hmm maybe. I think Joshua is a better overall player than both and has higher offensive upside. Malenstyn and greer are both faster, though and Greer is definitely the toughest out of the bunch

This team badly needs a 2nd line "match up" center. Now that Coyle has re-signed the only options I see available via trade are Trochek and Thomas - possibly Larkin if you consider him a match up guy.

I just think people need to get over the sticker shock of the actual numbers. 10M on next year's cap would be less than 7.5 when Rielly signed. The cap is only going up.

I love the speed aspect on the 4th line and they both hit like trucks. Greer is also a good fighter.

Joshua is more skilled but very slow and he is more of a guy that finishes his checks rather than a guy that skates through players.

I think that’ll be very hard to accomplish with our lack of assets.

An easier route could be signing Jenner as a UFA to take those match-ups. Doesn’t cost us anything aside from money.
