Yea my friend in California told me first about it and I have seen it mentioned in some of the EP threads that the relationship is not that smooth. Guy is a Cancer and cannot handle pressure last thing the Leafs need is to take on a guy like that.
Leafs should be looking at guys like Drury or Hayton to center the 3rd line with Cowan and a guy like Arvidsson(fantastic two way numbers) or McMann.

Mckenna - Tavares - Tuch ( heavy OZ starts)

I think that’ll be very hard to accomplish with our lack of assets.

An easier route could be signing Jenner as a UFA to take those match-ups. Doesn’t cost us anything aside from money.

I'd be surprised if Boone Jenner isn't a leaf once free agency opens. Another Toronto boy.

I think hes almost as likely to sign with the Leafs as Raddysh was. Hes still a very capable 3c despite his usage this past season. You could build a very solid shutdown line around him.

In my latest armchair roster, I think a third line of Cowan - Jenner - Bjorkstrand would do really well. Gives Cowboy two veterans to play with that play a 200ft game.

I don't mind if they bring in Jenner (aav dependant)but I'd rather they use some other assets and try and bring in a guy in his 20s even if that means using the Avs 1st next year (as long as he has term)

Simply he can play the minutes. He is Toronto's best possession defenceman by a mile, excellent on the breakouts and while he is not a speed demon he is quick. He was probably Philly's 3rd best dman last year but Tochett hates any defenceman under 6'3"

If Buffalo wants to make room to re-sign Tuch, something around Carlo (50% retained) + for Norris could make sense.

I previously suggested Carlo + 2027 COL 1st Rounder for Norris but we might have to expand that to Carlo (50% retained) + Holinka + 2027 COL 1st Rounder for Norris.

It would free up almost 6 million which almost covers the Benson extension.

He's had 3 elite seasons (19-20, 22-23, and 23-24) and 4 other really good ones (20-21 was going great besides injuries). Even 2024-25 wasn't as bad as people pretend it was.

My money says the decline is defensive numbers is based on his team turning terrible and his DZF and compition increasing with nobody good left on the team to play with.

There isn't really a young 3C that is physical and defensively responsible like Jenner is.

I've kinda been on this train for a few weeks. His value is probably as low as it can get, and they might be cutting salary.

Get ahead of the curve. Plus he will have proper support here.

I mean 10M isnt obscenely crazy in the new age for a top-4 defenseman. Would be 8.81% of the cap. For reference, when Rielly signed his deal it was for 9.01%.

The question is just whether you think he can take the next step and be good defensively, which he hasn't shown he can do yet.

If his health wasn't in question, I'd pay him 10 million per. If I remembwr correctly, a few years ago insiders were saying he was contemplating retirement due to his history of concussions.

But it doesnt say 10... it says over 10. Not sure how much over 10 million id want to go though.

Wouldn't mind that. He's a bottom 6, right shot winger, which we don't really have. I expected him to be more gritty as an NHL'er based on his reports as a prospect, but he hasn't really been.
