Are the Jim Hughson rumours true?
It has been reported in some 'unofficial' online media sites that Hughson will not be calling games on Hockey Night in Canada this season...What rumors????
Please don't toy with my emotions that we finally have had our prayers answered and that stiff won't be allowed anywhere near a Leafs broadcast anymore....
I'd do the Rielly trade.Leafs trade Reilly to the Kings for Bjornfot, Akil Thomas and a 2022 2nd round pick, 2023 2nd round pick. The two 2nd round picks could be a 1st in 2022 and made top ten protected it the Kings agreed with that .
the kings are looking to compete . Have the money to take on a bigger contract and are looking for a young , or mid 20 year old left handed defence man for that. They are willing to trade prospects to achieve this . This trade would happen if Reilly refuses to sign a long term deal by the beginning of the season around the range of 7-7.5 million dollars.
leafs trade Ilya mikeyhev and the LA Kings 2023 2nd round pick to the St.Louis blues for Robert Thomas and a 2023 5th round pick.
leafs extend Robert Thomas for 2x 2.25 million bridge.
Ritchie matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Robert Thomas
Kerfoot Kamf Kase
Bunting Spezza Simmonds
extra brooks.
Sandin Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Bjornfot Dermott
Extra Liljgren
Campbell
Mrazek
if Kase gets injured we can promote Robertson. Trade engvail for a late round pick , or use as depth on the Marlies.
Possibly have Anderson , gusev, Gabriel, seney, amido could all be guys called up/ sent down when needed.

I like the ideas but… That D looks much worse without Rielly and shoving Sandin onto the top pairing.Leafs trade Reilly to the Kings for Bjornfot, Akil Thomas and a 2022 2nd round pick, 2023 2nd round pick. Phase five?
Yes they didIs Bjornfot even that good? His stats are pretty underwhelming.
Im guessing that’s who LA picked with our 2019 1st rounder?
One of the very few players I would look at trading Morgan Rielly for would be Shea Theodore. I have no idea what that would look like or why Vegas would do it, but I feel like he would fit our roster nicely.
Shea Theodore is being penciled in by some as the top LHD for Team Canada, so his stardom has taken a big jump in the past 1.5 years.
If we're contemplating life after Rielly, a guy I think would be very interesting is Samuel Girard from Colorado.
He's a fantastic skater and I think he handles the puck a little more cleanly than Rielly, and is quite a bit more dynamic on the blueline, sort of like a mini Kris Letang. He's a LHD, on the smaller side and not very physical. More importantly, he comes with a $5 million cap hit which would be the same as Rielly's current deal. The pressure point that could make him potentially available would be Colorado needing to re-sign/replace Kuemper, re-sign/replace Kadri and Bowen Byram becoming a full time LHD.

My thoughts were a sign and trade of Rielly, say he would take 8x7.5. What would be the difference in value between Rielly at 8x7.5M and Theodore at 3 more years of 5.2M?
I know just dreamingTheodore won't be available because he's emerging as a legit Norris Trophy threat and a first pair option for Team Canada...

I'm sure Aneheim is glad they paid Theodore to make sure Vegas too Stoner instead of Manson...
Anaheim really had something going there for a while on the back end and just messed it all up.
