It is a pretty consistent pattern, isn’t it?

Dreading that Bills game, only because I don’t want to listen to that idiot Carlo crowing about it the next day on First Up……

Wouldn't mind Chara with the Leafs on a limited role
Chara still has presence and leadership. Just don't play him more than 8 mins a game
There's no reason why Holl, Rielly and others can't play 2 mins extra a game
Yeah tough start to the season. My expectations are very low this year.It is a pretty consistent pattern, isn’t it?

Anyone read Chris Johnston's article? I couldn't get to it because its behind a paywall
No. Muzzin/Brodie/Holl/Liljegren/Dermott are all fine in this regard.Does anyone else think the Leafs are missing a physical edge on the blueline?

Holl and Dermott could work on not sacrificing body position to make a hit at times but other than that they're fine.
Bogosians impact was terribly overrated on this blueline. They were great last year and could be even better this year if Liljegren takes a step.

The only guy leaving from last year was Bogosian and Liljegren is just as physical. They'll be fine back there unless all of Brodie/Muzzin/Liljegren happen to get injured at thw same time.I see a lot more of the soft blueline from 2+ years ago this year. Could be the new forwards offset that.

He actually is. Bogosian was probably our least frustrating 3rd pair guy in a while and it wasn't because he threw around the body a ridiculous amount (average hits wise). He played smart for the most part and didn't overdo the physical stuff. His one and only fight was in the offensive zone against Watson after he got mugged basically so it's not like he was punching guys lights out either.lmao no he's not
Yeah it's time Liljegren makes the jump. He's 22 now, we've sheltered him enough.Lili isn’t shy physically, and is built like a brick sh!thouse. His physical game has developed well over the years as part of his overall decision making. I’m hoping he’s the 3rd pair RD out of the gate, with management and fans patient through the growing pains. Should be worth it.
I'd rather keep Sandin down on the marlies this year than Liljegren.
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl/Liljegren
Dermott - Holl/Liljegren
Should be our defense to start. It seems fairly obvious to me. However, I get the sense it'll be Sandin - Dermott on the third pairing.
Which, overall isn't bad. Sandin is good.
However I just feel that between Sandin and Liljegren, Sandin has more learning to do of the two.
Amazing how much these middle class guys are being relegated to the edge of the roster in their early 30s now...I heard on the radio it’s just 750k. Nice deal for the Blues
