Definitely possible, but Dvorak is a near-term downgrade on Krej. Also we saw what kind of returns Phoenix gets on desperate GMs, so Boston can expect to pay through the nose for him.

Now if Boston can pull of Eichel, that's a different story. But I don't see Buffalo dealing him to a division rival.

Adams said he prefers the Western conference, but he also said he would be stupid not the listen to offers from any team. I don't know if Boston has what it takes to land Eichel in terms of assets. They want a 1st, 2nd, a top prospect and an NHL player, and dealing him to a division rival likely comes with an extra price as well.

Actually I'm not sure I wouldnt like to see them giving up everything for a guy with his personality, losing record and injury history.

I am not speculating, I am just pointing out that the other side is just as true, just getting super tired of everyone writing fan fiction as fact, it is so tiresome in this forum now.
The team potentially got better this year and people are acting like it is time to rebuild.
People saying Rielly will walk, Marner will walk, Matthews will walk, all our prospects will fail, everyone is stating wild opinions that have very little to no basis in fact.
Nobody wrote anything as fact. You posted your opinion and I responded with my own, that is what we are doing here right? Everyone stating wild opinions? But you saying they might take a discount is not a wild opinion? Not sure why you are taking it so personally. If it gets to you that much that people have opinions that dont align with yours maybe this isn't the place for you.

I honestly never envisioned myself saying this but... I WANT NICK RITCHIE

get it f***ing done. Plug him in the top 6 instead of Bunting. He can actually play and will look solid with Auston or JT.

They easily have the cap space.

The capital is another thing. They don't have any blue chip prospects. They can probably send something like DeBrusk, Studnicka, Vaakanainen, and picks. Buffalo gets better offers than that, I'm sure.

I see only $1 mill in cap space currently though ... I get players would be moved, but it seems tight

Coyle, McAvoy / Carlo and a couple 1st. round picks?

I don't know - their defense is already paper thin, if they ship those guys for Eichel, their forwards look good but that's maybe the weakest defense in the league in front of an unproven Ullmark.

There's a thread on the main board saying Seravalli says Tatar to the Leafs? Where exactly is there any article or news of this?

Slagging on Krejci is being salty for no reason. He could help the Leafs.

Ritchie's skating is bad. There was a time when an NHL team could overlook that but I think there's too many ways to exploit it. A $1M with no guarantees? Why not? Otherwise let another org take a chance. Much prefer looking for another Galchenyuk type.

I'm assuming that a semi-significant forward is still signing with the team. We're in the drive down the price stage of the market right now. I don't know how Galchenyuk was with the coaches but assuming he was okay I'd absolutely welcome him back at $1Mish.

What about Casey Cizikas? Matt Martin's stint here sour against this? The guy wins draws and is hard as nails. As a true 4th line center, you'd be in tough to do better.

Their current CapFriendly page has John Moore, who will be LTIR'd. They also have like 15 forwards. Drop it down to 12 forwards and 6 defensemen, and they're left with 6.8, though they do need to add a back-up goalie.

I think it was not tagged properly. It was from Luke Fox, a writer for Sportsnet that tends to write a lot about the Leafs. He posted a picture of Mrazek and Tatar hugging from their time with the Red Wings on twitter. There are no articles or links outside of that.

EDIT: Looks like Seravalli said on his podcast Tatar and the Leafs talked.

Seravelli on his podcast today said the leafs called on Tatar - so clear there is interest there but nothing concrete on likelihood.

I'd be over the moon grabbing Tatar. His rumored issues in the playoffs are hilariously overrated. Getting a guy that can drive play offensively and defensively like that while having that kind of production is ridiculous for less than 3.5M.

I'd also be so happy watching him clown on Habs fans when they benched one of their best forwards.

What's the rumour? Two teams that went to the finals thought they were better without him....
