I woudn't even be surprised if they gon call marleau back for marner and matthews anymore....... there ain't so many left anymore. Rithie might not wanna be a canadian, johansson is often injured... brad richardson might not be needed anymore since we got kämph. Ryan Donato might be a surprise name also. I ain't surprised anymore if a malreau is flown back y'all. 700k dirt.

That sounds about right for him. Does not deserve that much more than Toffoli.

I am not sold on Tatar personally. I think we turn to Ritchie first.

Curious to see if we can get Krejci, but he likely gets over 5 mill even at 35.
I’d look at Ritchie as well. I thought I read for krejci it’s either Boston or home to the Czech Republic

Where would you fit Tarasenko? We have no money!
Removing dermott & Mikheyev brings our available cap room to the mid 6’s. Not enough for tank but with some retention it could work.
Mikheyev + Dermott + prospect for tank @ 5.5-6m

I feel like it'll probably be Tatar but I'd prefer Ritchie, and if not just bring back Gally and play him with Tavares and Nylander again.

Otherwise go the trade route and go for a bigger name. Doubtful on that though.

We also might want to git that cholowski or lauzon dirt through the waivers if the worse club in the nhl the seattle kraken waives these suckas. They have too many D-men right now as we speaks. They got 11 d-men that can't all play for surely. They gon waive some suckas hard at some point. Cholowski would brang our PP together, just like a sandin can too.

Shotout to guys like @Kurtz
He isn't a Dubas fan nor a hater. He will praise the good stuff and call out the bad moves. I like that. We had a pretty heated argument on Holl's NMC clause a few months ago:laugh:, but he is very equal.

We have a lot of even-keeled posters on this board, the trouble is they're often drowned out by the incessant debbie-downers on this board whose only joy in life is to try to make others as miserable as they are.

Were I a mod for but one day...this place would get a Red Wedding-like cleanse.

Alas, will have to make do with the ignore button.

I understand the hesitance with Tatar because of his playoff scratchings. But the thing is, that's the only reason we might be able to afford him. Because if you look at his 5v5 production and underlying stats over the last few years, he really looks like a 1st line winger. And if everyone else belived that he'd easily be out of our price range. I think its a decent risk to take if we can fit him in without moving more money out.

I would sign the best RW you can find for league minimum and let them compete on that third line with Malgin, Ho-Sang, Anderson, Simmonds, etc. The Marlies also need a couple of top 6 RW's so worst case, that guy ends up helping them.

Would not be against picking up one or two guys like Svechnikov, Donato, Heinen, or Kahun if they fall through the cracks and are willing to compete.

Move Engvall ASAP and if there are any mid-late round pick offers for Malgin, move him too. Would not be surprised if he gets claimed on waivers by someone if he doesn't win a job with the Leafs.

Don't know what is going on with Donato. Pretty hyped a few years ago playing in Boston. Few years and a few teams later he is available again. I wonder if there are off ice issues or something. I would take a chance on him. Side note, E Kane is a great player but even a greater douche bag. no thanks.

If you had to pick someone other than Ritchie to play top-6 LW in FA given the remaining options who would it be? He's really the only other viable option and they may not even have the cap space for him.

Yeah I understand where you're coming from.

I prefer the trade route. Rickard Rakell is someone I wouldn't mind

Yeah, thats usually how that works.

He's not wrong. Instead of getting 5 medicore pieces why not get one or two really good players

We signed 7 medicore pieces last year. Not a single of them panned out

What if we moved Nylander to the left side. He played LW in Sweden and on the world stage and looked good there. Acquire Tarasenko at 50%. Trade Engvall for a pick.

Nylander Matthews Tarasenko
Bunting Tavares Marner
Kerfoot Kampf Mikheyev
Simmonds Brooks Spezza
Anderson

Hoffman at 4.5, Saad at 4.5 >>>>> the bargain bin shit we signed

Let's check back at the end of the year and compare Bunting to the two above. Take into consideration the cap savings, and I suspect you may think differently.

Bunting is going to surprise a lot of people. I’d be surprised if he isn’t a standout in our top 9 next season.

Not that I want him...but Marcus Johansson is a Free Agent and could potentially fit what Dubas wants
