I don't think adding RD shows what they think of Liljegren though. I think it shows they don't want to put Dermott on the right side. If they are unwilling to play either of Sandin/Dermott on RD, then your 3RD right now is Liljegren, and if he or any of the current RD gets hurt, or he isn't great at camp, they're extremely thin after that.

They did add Menell and Biega. I imagine they are the next RD.

The Leafs could add Vatanen or Demers if they come really cheap. We can trade a bunch of defensive depth on the Marlies.
 
There aren't many options left now in Value Village.

What you see right now is what you'll most likely see on the opening night roster.
 
The lack of leafs rumours is amazing. Front office doesn’t let anything out really. All the speculation around who are we getting gets nulled.

Dubas will strike when fans least expect it

That's it in a nutshell. Disagreeing with something is one thing. But the constant name calling and negativity about EVERYTHING every single day by the same half dozen trolls can be a bit much. I'm sure if you go back to their post history, you'd find the same kind of comments regarding Burke, Nonis, JFJ... Always the same. "This guy sucks...terrible draft history...we need more skill...wait, now we need more toughness...we need an experienced GM...we need new blood" Blah blah blah. Ad infinitum.
But its just indicative of the world we live in, where people can hide behind their words and never come out from their keyboards with a real, objective opinion that might engender some good, back and forth dialogue about this team and what can be done to fix some of the obvious problems. Which doesn't include calling the GM "Dumbass". Not because he is or isn't one, but because you couldn't think of a better insult than making fun of his name. Why don't you all just call him "Four Eyes" or "Nerd'? Takes about as much brainpower.

Ah I would have done 4.5 pretty easily. Lets see what Dubas has in store for a top 6 forward.
 
Nice signing for the Blues! Legit top six winger off the board, Tatar is the only guy left who interests me.

Pretty damn disappointing time to be a Leafs fan, but I wasn't expecting anything more.

That sounds about right for him. Does not deserve that much more than Toffoli.

I am not sold on Tatar personally. I think we turn to Ritchie first.

Curious to see if we can get Krejci, but he likely gets over 5 mill even at 35.

I don't know that they would find enough ice time for Nylander on the third line (they'd have to be willing to also play his linemates that much). There's too much invested in both Tavares and Nylander to give either inferior ice time or quality of linemates.
 
I wonder if Tatar could be an option now? He’s been pretty good in the regular season over the past few years. I am concerned about the playoffs however, a .2 ppg in 15 games is kind of scary, especially considering the fact that he has been scratched in both. I’d take a shot in the mid to high 2’s for 1 year

It depends on Tatar's market value. If it really is deflated and he can be had for around 3 to 3.5 million, it's a no brainer for me. If he comes in around Saad's contract on a 5 year deal, he probably isn't realistic. Ritchie doesn't seem very good

Wish we could have landed Saad for that deal. Prefer him to Tatar (as an example) come playoff time.
 
Solid deal for Saad, definitely would've been happy with him here under those terms.

It really just comes down to Tatar or a trade to fill out that LW spot now. Interesting that we have heard very little on Tatar and his potential suitors to this point.
 
I wouldn't mind Tarasenko. His value has got to be at an all-time low right now. Most teams have already loaded up after Free agency.

Not really sure Tatar fits. He seems like the kind of guy who can lead a 3rd line, but do we really want him to be the forechecker on the top 6 lines?
