We would be stupid not to, just like with Barre-Boulet and Tampa.
He may not be a full time NHLer, but he is great depth and a much-needed leader for the Marlies.

Unless they demote Caufield to the AHL, waive Niku or waive a big contract like Lehkonen, there aren't many options for them.

I’m assuming he’s going to be low on the Montreal pecking order once Edmundson is activated. Basically just looking forward to damaging them - cause I’m petty and hate them.

Well it is the reason why Bergeron claimed him to begin with. Montreal is a very petty and disrespectful organization. Hence the reason there are problems with the Hurricanes and has always been a thorn in the Leafs side.
But the world is round!!! Wait until they try to sneak someone on waivers. Toronto probably has an auto notification created so they know when a Montreal player is on waivers!

Montreal barely has anyone worth claiming out of spite. Maybe Poehling if he ever hits waivers at any point.
Anyone else who hits waivers is no better than any cheap UFA signing you can get.

i wait for and claim the first cheap goalie to hit waivers, Brooks wouldnt be in the lineup anyways ...the thought of Hutch playing another NHL game for the Leafs makes me throw up in my mouth.
Most likely. We only have 46 contracts, so plenty of room. If we manage to claim him successfully, he can be sent directly to the AHL, and be waiver exempt for 30 days.
Would hopefully allow us to waive Amadio and get Brooks or Semyonov into the lineup.

Just a minor correction
If anyone after us in priority puts in an unsuccessful claim, he has to stay in the NHL

/edit Cory Schneider was waived yesterday (i didnt know), but, i dont know if he's healthy enough to play. even broken down he'd give us a better chance to win than Hutch just by filling more of the net, scoring on Hutch is like playing road hokey with shoes as the post and a stick as a deterrent, just chip it over and its a goal (i think this example is lost on anyone under 50)
/edit ...just did a lookup and Dubnyk is unsigned still (and Rask) ...wonder if Dubs would sign a 2-way min? ...better than Hutch regardless of regression

Brooks may be worth claiming. Though he is the kind of guy who will probably bounce around waivers a bit throughout the season regardless of where he ends up

Brooks would be able to give Spezza, Simmonds etc a night off. If we got him back, I would be okay with waiving Amadio.

Next season our d will need to be rebuilt , it's not good enough this yr.
Mo is going to get big $$$$$ which we can't afford

I would have loved to put a claim on him and waive Hutchinson.
