Time to start looking at some pieces that the Leafs could trade for now.

I'd be looking at one of McCabe/Murphy and then one of Katchouk/Raddysh.

If the Leafs have guys that are 3 years out in their prospects, plus some bodies that can get Chicago through the next couple years, it's time to make those trades.
Murphy would be a good target.

They'll all still likely be in the bottom 10 regardless
I wouldn't be so sure about Ottawa. They have a legit top 6, with Sanderson getting full time nhl next year, their defense should improve as well. Get them a legit goalie and I wouldn't bet against them fighting for a wild card spot.

I mean Ottawa and Detroit are going to try and get better regardless of the other teams in the division. I also don't see how Buffalo is any more behind than they are.
They are, but with the status of the teams in the conference they may as well move now.

They might. But the division is hard and we still have free agency to see how things settle out.

I've heard tales every season about how teams like the Sens/Sabres/ect will be on the upswing. All just speculation until they prove that can sustain winning games

But it could get easier with Boston, Florida heading in the other direction this year and Toronto next year.
In 2023/24 they could set their sites on a WC spot

Sens, Detroit, and Montreal are all coming up, whether we like it or not. This is the best division in hockey.

You understand that the Leafs are gonna be good for a pretty decent amount of time, over the next few years, right?

When the cap goes up, much of our issues are alleviated
