Going for the money if he goes there.
I agree. Seems an unlikely destination.

Loves it there, summers in Ottawa, wife is from there. Just built a house and evidently plans to live there post retirement.I agree. Seems an unlikely destination.
Habs have 10 picks in first four rounds and want #2OA. They will have to be making moves at some point.

Would love to send Tavares + Nylander to Calgary for Tkachuk + and sign copp or trade for Miller.
Today, yes; but OTT is poised with plenty of good chips if they pushed some in. A couple of big adds could make them a pretty desirable destination.I agree. Seems an unlikely destination.

I can’t see any way Montreal ends up with the #2, except trade down, which they will not do. Montreal doesn’t strike me as a team that has anything Jersey would covet. At least not anything they’d be willing to part with
I heard all of that but guys retire in their late 30s in hockey. Hopefully with some luck you have a long life after and you have plenty of time to have fun with your family etc.Loves it there, summers in Ottawa, wife is from there. This would make a lot of sense. The Leafs need to get an expiring contract that frees up money to re-sign Bunting next season. Having Tarasenko take up a good chunk of the cap and "holding" that cap space for Bunting (4M?) would be smart. Tarasenko augments the top 6, I'm not sure how he'd fit with Tavares though. Sandin gets a clear role in the top 6 as well which would solve that issue.
Here's a glimpse of what the roster could look like (Engvall probably makes less, Boosh makes more):

Yeah I get that but he'll still have lots of time left for that.Loves it there, summers in Ottawa, wife is from there. Just built a house and evidently plans to live there post retirement.
NJ wants to move down to take a specific dman. If Habs can get #7OA, they can add to get #2OA.

I highly doubt it personally. NJ had a top 2 pick in a draft that is considered to have a clear top 2 fall into their lap, I’d be shocked if they traded out of that spot for anything less than a huge overpayment.
Or you take Logan Cooley, or a stud Dman......If Habs take Wright, you can't pass on Slavkovsky who is the most NHL ready player in the draft. If they want a dman, I suggest they call up Kyle and ask about Sandy.

It seems like something has to give if they want to become a legit Cup contender. Otherwise they’ll have a lineup like above and will go into the season hoping they can find enough at the TDL to win a round.A Tavares move would breathe fresh air into the whole build.
The complete lack of activity around the league is pretty amazing so far. I don't know if it's just waiting for that first move, or if we just aren't going to see much for now. Looking forward to 7pm, and to see how the chips will fall.

It’ll never happen but I could see a team like LA actually having interest in Tavares and vice versa. Something along the lines of Arvidsson + Turcotte + 2023 1stA Tavares move would breathe fresh air into the whole build.
Thank you very muchYou’ve placed a mod on ignore who is making the threads
