Holding out hope for a JT Miller + Luke Schenn trade.

Have a feeling Vancouver will want Knies back. Hard pass on that
I don't think getting those two will help the Leafs over the hump. The hump is Cup Finals and not 1st round playoffs.

I don't understand how we afford any big ticket goalie.

It's not just Mrazek, other significant salary would have to go out.

Also, I've seen some posts about moving Willy for picks. Is there anything to this or is it just internet blathering? I cannot see it given his contract status, at least for reasonably high picks.

Non of the serious insiders have suggested it.

I wonder if you can get Fleury on the cheaper end. Do you run a Fleury - Mrazek tandem and hope Mrazek can bounce back?

I like the message to the Marlies on the cusp.
Said similar things about Lili and Sandin last year getting an opportunity if they earn it.

I ran a wild capfriendly based on new extension for Middleton and re-signing Bjugstad a reduced rate of 750k

3.32M cap space for MAF or another goalie.

I’d pay a ton for Tkachuk. Imagine a future line of Knies - Matthews - Tkachuk…

Johnny Hockey is the driver in that duo. But I agree with you, Flames will pay Tkachuk.
Perhaps Dubas can convince them to send Tkachuk this way with Nylander being a fantastic Gaudreau replacement

Obviously, cap space, and maybe a couple assets coming back.
Tavares isn't being traded, and if he was being traded, it wouldn't be to Ottawa or Buffalo, and we wouldn't be taking on 5.5m of dead cap for 3 years to significantly downgrade our team in a contention phase.

Tkachuk will want/get 9M to 10M

No way should we be adding that high of a cap hit unless it's JT going out.

Can't afford another double digit player who has a habit of underperformed in the playoffs.

So far all 3 of our 10M+ guys have provided not good enough play though 34 and 16 are trending upwards in the playoffs.

Tkachuk has 15 pts in 27 playoff games. At 10ishM he can't be here for grit and intangibles imo and we'd need a line driving physical winger, something he hasn't shown to be in the playoffs

I think that the Leafs might be targeting Darren Helm on a 2 year deal at around 900k-1mil. on a 4th line role. He's still productive even at his age.
Source? Or reason why you feel this way? Or is it just a want type thing. Cuz yeah i'd love to see him in blue and white after watching how hard he competes night in and night out during the playoffs

Then who will replace Tkachuk?
That’s a Calgary problem

I’d do it, he’s the exact type of player they need.

No source. Just my own opinion and being hopeful. He's the type of player that the Leafs love. The veteran that can provide steady minutes on a 4th line role and play 3/4 of the season maintenance free. He's carved out a great career in that spot and I think he would fill in for Spezza and do a great job.

To Toronto-
Matthew Tkachuk
Connor Zary

To Calgary-
William Nylander
Rasmus Sandin
Justin Holl
